  • Patent number: 8266900
Abstract: A plurality of flat tubes formed as a tube having notches by linearly cutting upper and lower parts from a hollow flat circular doughnut shape are stacked to structure a tube laminate. It is attached to a case so that a notch aligns with the notch and faces upward by an exhaust inflow end plate and that a notch aligns with the notch and faces downward by an exhaust outflow end plate. A cutoff valve is provided at an exhaust outflow end of an exhaust communication tube passing through the center of the tube laminate by heat insulation. While an internal combustion engine is warming up, the cutoff valve is closed to cause the exhaust to flow in gaps of the respective flat tubes from upward to downward as a whole and also a heat exchange medium is caused to flow in the respective flat tubes from downward to upward as a whole to have heat exchanged between the exhaust and the heat exchange medium to recover the exhaust heat.

  • Patent number: 6757974
Abstract: A fuel inlet comprises an inlet pipe, a breather tube, a retainer, a spiral groove, and the like. The inlet pipe is formed by processing a metal pipe and has an expanded portion, a taper portion, and a main body in the order from the fuel port. The expanded portion is formed by increasing the diameter by bulging. In order to prevent defects in the pipe such as cracks from being caused during bulging, SUS304, SUS304L, or SUS436 according to JIS is used as the material of the pipe. The diameter of the main body is 25.4 mm and the diameter of the expanded portion is 50 mm. A spiral groove on which a screw-type fuel port cap can be screwed is formed in the vicinity of the open end of the expanded portion, by crimping the inlet pipe and the retainer together. On the outer surface of the expanded portion in the vicinity of the open end is provided an outer-cylinder-like flange formed integrally with the inlet pipe.

  • Patent number: 6564779
Abstract: An evaporated fuel treatment device in which performance of a canister can be improved, with the result that efficiency in treatment of evaporated fuel can be enhanced. In the evaporated fuel treatment device, a purge control valve, conventionally disposed on a purge passage, is removed, such that the canister is directly subject to a negative pressure generated on the side of an inlet pipe at the time of starting of an engine. Consequently, a great attraction force acts on the evaporated fuel adsorbed within the canister. Also, by restricting a flow of air introduced into the canister by means of a flow control valve, the negative pressure applied to the canister can further be increased. As a result, in the evaporated fuel treatment device of the invention, the amount of the evaporated fuel which can be desorbed from the canister is larger than that of a conventional device.
