The alternative cost is less than the base cost. The method includes receiving a confirmation message from the provider device. The confirmation message indicates whether the base level of service or an alternative level of service has been accepted by the provider device. The method also includes receiving data at the base level of service or at the one of the one or more negotiated levels of service in accordance with the confirmation message.

    Abstract: Described herein is a wireless charging system including switched capacitor (SC) rectifiers with output regulation. The load for the receiver on mobile devices using wireless charging is a battery. Regulation is needed for battery charging applications, e.g. constant voltage charging, constant current charging, and pulsed charging. For this purpose, the wireless power transfer (WPT) receiver can possess some “intelligence” to monitor the output voltage/current, adjust the behavior of the electronic circuitries and achieve a closed-loop control. Because a multilevel switched-capacitor (MSC) rectifier has output control ability, this can allow the MSC rectifier to directly charge the battery without an additional DC/DC charger on-board the device.

    Abstract: Branch prediction techniques are described that can improve the performance of pipelined microprocessors. A microprocessor with a hierarchical branch prediction structure is presented. The hierarchy of branch predictors includes: a multi-cycle predictor that provides very accurate branch predictions, but with a latency of multiple cycles; a small and simple branch predictor that can provide branch predictions for a sub-set of instructions with zero-cycle latency; and a fast, intermediate level branch predictor that provides relatively accurate branch prediction, while still having a low, but non-zero instruction prediction latency of only one cycle, for example. To improve operation, the higher accuracy, higher latency branch direction predictor and the fast, lower latency branch direction predictor can share a common target predictor.
