Patent number: 8087406Abstract: The present invention relates to a gun for using compressed gas to propel an arrow. The gun comprises a hollow barrel adapted to accommodate the arrow. The barrel has an open rear end and an open front end. The gun also includes a cylindrical chamber having a front end through which the barrel extends, a closed rear end, and a gas inlet for connecting the cylindrical chamber to a source of compressed gas. The cylindrical chamber is adapted to hermetically enclose the open rear end of the barrel and is axially movable between a non-firing position where the closed rear end of the cylindrical chamber sealingly engages the open rear end of the barrel, and a firing position where the closed rear end of the cylindrical chamber is displaced from the open rear end of the barrel to allow compressed gas to pass into the barrel via the open rear end of the barrel so as to propel the arrow out the open front end of the barrel. The gun has a simple and robust construction, and has a well-balanced behavior during use.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 2010Date of Patent: January 3, 2012Assignee: FX Airguns ABInventor: Fredrik Axelsson

Patent number: 6904902Abstract: An airgun comprising a valve intended to be in contact with a compressed air cartridge, a barrel, into which a bullet is insertable, and a passageway connecting the valve with the barrel. Moreover, the airgun has element with a plurality of through holes of different diameters, which element is arranged in the passageway so that a part of the element comprising at least one of said holes extends transversely of the passageway. The diameter of the hole or holes which is/are positioned in the passageway thus defines the effective cross-section of the passageway and, consequently, the flow through the passageway. This means that the invention offers a better possibility of controlling the air flow.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 2002Date of Patent: June 14, 2005Assignee: FX Airguns ABInventor: Fredrik Axelsson

Patent number: 6702556Abstract: The invention concerns a pump for compression of gases, such as air, of the type comprising a first cylinder and a second cylinder, a piston dividing said first cylinder into a first chamber located ahead of the piston and a second chamber located behind the piston, the piston and the second cylinder arranged to be displaced jointly relative to the first cylinder. A third chamber is formed between end walls of the cylinders and communicates with said second chamber via at least one opening formed in the jacket wall of the first cylinder. The pump is characterized by an inlet provided in the second end of the second cylinder in order to allow passage of air into a fourth chamber formed between the second end of the second cylinder and the end wall of the first cylinder, said fourth chamber communicating with said third chamber via a through-passage channel, wherein a valve is provided, formed in the end wall of the first cylinder.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 2002Date of Patent: March 9, 2004Assignee: FX Airguns ABInventor: Fredrik Axelsson
