  • Patent number: 4732272
Abstract: Packaging film product for the packaging of paper rolls or equivalent into a consumer package provided with a handle. The packaging film product consists of a web-like film (1) wherein the edge borders (1a, 1b) of the film are folded towards each other over the middle portion of the film remaining between them, substantially over equal distances so that the edge borders cover a substantial part of the middle portion that remains in between. At one edge of the web folded in this way, a longitudinal handle strip (2) has been produced by joining together the film layers that are placed one above the other, and grasping openings (3) or opening blanks have also been made into the handle strip with a mutual spacing corresponding to the spacing of the package units.

  • Patent number: 4583471
Abstract: A planting device for planting of plants includes a frame to be mounted on a traction vehicle. A support arm, carrying a planting assembly, extends backwards in parallel with the direction of movement of the traction vehicle and is mounted by the frame for movement along a path extending upwardly and forwardly toward the vehicle from a lowered planting position to a raised position. This mounting arrangement permits the support arm and the planting assembly to rise to avoid obstacles in the ground.

  • Patent number: 4503693
Abstract: An apparatus for making a hole and a collar in the side of a pipe has a pipe-fastening portion mounted on a stand for holding the pipe and has a hole-making portion for making the hole in the pipe during movement in a first direction. There is also a collaring portion for collaring the edges of the hole during movement in a second direction. The hole-making portion and the collaring portion are mounted on the stand and rotated to produce the desired working action. A variable-speed feeder mounted between the stand and the hole-making and collaring portion effects relative vertical displacement between the stand and pipe-fastening portion and the hole-making and collaring portions. The feeder has a cam element for controlling the rate and extent of the vertical displacement and thereby the movement of the hole-making and collaring portions relative to the pipe.

  • Patent number: 4414835
Abstract: Flange forming drill apparatus for producing a flanged hole in a workpiece such as the side of a pipe or the like includes a body supporting a rotating drill rod and legs for supporting the body to move toward and away from the workpiece. A drill bit is provided at the end of the drill rod for drilling a hole upon movement of the body towards the workpiece along the support legs and a plurality of flange forming members are mounted on an end portion of the drill rod for movement between a retracted position while the hole is drilled and an outwardly projecting position for forming a flange around the edge of the hole when the body is moved away from the workpiece. An adjustment member on the drill rod is provided for moving the flange forming members between retracted and extended positions and brake bits are mounted on the legs for engagement by the adjustment member for extending the flange forming members when the hole is completed.

  • Patent number: 4412441
Abstract: A method useful for forming in a curved surface, an enlarged hole surrounded by an upturned flange whose unattached edge lies substantially in a common plane, uses a drill rod, a set of bits, and a mechanism for forming an upturned flange. A first bit attached to the lower end of the rod forms an initial hole. A second bit, spaced axially along the rod, forms a widened oval hole with tapered sides upon continued axial and rotary movement of the rod relative to the workpiece. A flange forming mechanism is then extended beneath the edge region of the hole and pulled through the hole while rotating, to form the upturned flange. A third bit mounted peripherally with respect to the second bit is used to smooth and level the flange edge and to provide it with a desired shape.

  • Patent number: 4353421
Abstract: A soil preparing device for preparing forest soil to a planting bed. The device comprises a frame intended to be mounted on a forest tractor, a support arm mounted on the frame pivotally around a horizontal link, and a preparing element supported by a slide mounted vertically movably on said support arm. The slide is fastened to a hydraulic cylinder supported by said support arm for continuously adjusting the vertical position of said slide and, accordingly, of the position of the preparing element with respect to the ground during the preparation. A deviation of the support arm upwardly or downwardly from a neutral position activates said hydraulic cylinder of the slide to displace the preparing element upward and downward, respectively, due to variations in the ground level and obstacles on the ground. The preparing element can therefore be displaced clear of any unevennesses in the ground without substantially deviating from its working angle in relation to the ground.

  • Patent number: 4307827
Abstract: A method for feeding plant cells in a planting machine, whereby a unified line of cells consisting of plant cells connected to each other is detached from a unified cell sheetcomprising plant cells, the unified line of cells is shifted downwards on upwards through cutting apparatus which direct a cutting effect at the joints between the individual plant cells in the unified line of cellseither from the same direction or from the opposite direction as compared with the direction from which the plant cells are supported during the shifting, in order to cut the cells in the line of cells loose from each other, and the detached plant cells are passed to a distributor in order to feed the plant cells as separated from each other to the planting device. The cutting loose of the plant cells takes place totally automatically when the plant cells are shifted from the cell sheet to the distributor, and does not require any extra movements for cutting loose.
