Patents Assigned to G. Rodenstock Instrumente GmbH
  • Patent number: 6299310
Abstract: The invention is characterised by the provision that in a slit lamp or a slit lamp projector an oblique thin glass flat with a partial reflection of the light is disposed at a defined angle relative to the optical path above the filter assembly between the latter and the “slit projector” lens (4), and in the configuration with an achromatic doublet lens between the lens assemblies in the parallel optical path, in such a way that as a result one part of the incident rays is incident as deflected light cone on a detector assembly which is arranged laterally in the housing at an angle dependent on the angle of the thin glass flat in the housing, which detector assembly measures the respectively existing luminous intensity, transmits the detected values to an evaluation and control means which compares the values so received against a predetermined maximum value, calculates the irradiation dose for the phakic or aphakic eye and, when the value is exceeded, signals this situation on an indicating alarm

  • Patent number: 6267756
Abstract: An apparatus for the observation and treatment of the eye with a laser, having an illumination light source, whose light is focussed on the part of the eye to be observed and which preferably contains a laser, a scanning device, which generates a scanning movement of the light of the illumination light source on the background of the eye, a detector device, which receives the reflected light, an evaluation and synchronization unit, which generates from the time-sequential signal output of the detector device a visual representation of the portions of the eye to be treated and shows the visual representation, on a monitor, and a treatment laser device, whose light can be reflected on the part of the eye to be treated. The apparatus provides that a visual representation in which the location or locations to be treated are marked, can be superimposed on the visual representation of the eye at least on the monitor, and a control unit aligns the laser to the marked location.

  • Patent number: 5663781
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for examining objects having an illumination light source, the light of which can be focussed on the part of the object to be examined, a scanning device, which generates a scanning movement of the light beam from the illumination light source over the section to be examined and which is provided with beam-deflecting and beam-imaging optical elements, a sensor device, which receives the light reflected from said section to be examined, and an evaluation and synchronization unit, which produces an image of said section to be examined from the time-sequential output signal from said sensor device. The invented apparatus is distinguished by the fact that the optical axis of the examination and/or illumination beam can be shifted in a plane of said pupils in order to generate a stereoscopic image, and that the images produced with varying positions of the optical axes can be overlapped in order to produce a stereo image.

  • Patent number: 5002386
Abstract: A device for directing a laser beam in the path of a beam from a slit lamp of a slit lamp apparatus to an eye to be treated or examined. The device includes a slit lamp apparatus having an optical axis along which light of the slit lamp is guided, an optical system for directing a laser beam from a side opposite to the slit lamp apparatus along the optical axis of the slit lamp apparatus, and a deflector for deflecting the laser beam and the light from the slit lamp apparatus by an angle of about 90 degrees so that the laser beam and the light of the slit lamp apparatus are coaxially directed to the eye to be treated or examined.

  • Patent number: 4884884
Abstract: Described is an apparatus for treatment of the eye with the use of a laser, the beam of which can be projected onto the area of the eye to be treated. An inventive element is that there is positioned in the beam path of the laser at least one beam multiplier, which divides the beam into at least two sub-beams, which are arranged in a specific spacial relationship to each other and which are jointly projected onto the area of the eye to be treated. The beam multiplier provided in accordance with the present invention has the advantage that the treatment time is reduced by a factor, equaling the number of individual sub-beams.
