Abstract: A forming mold made from a polyporous refractory material is provided for forming a glass piece. The forming mold includes an outer surface and a plurality of forming structures provided on the outer surface. Each of the forming structures includes a forming surface matching with a shape of the glass piece. The forming mold is structured and arranged to be pumped down from the outer surface to generated an absorption force on molten glass material provided at the at least one forming surface for sucking the molten glass material on the forming structure to form the glass piece.

Abstract: A subarachnoid pharmacodialysis apparatus insertable under the scalp, in and under the cranium, with a relatively short and simple neurosurgical procedure, to be kept there safely implanted for a year or longer for the purpose of regulating the neurochemistry of one or more diseased cerebral cortical areas and thus to achieve therapeutic effects via both localized delivery of medication and drainage of local neurotoxic molecules across the subdural meninges and compartments in a feedback-controlled fashion, with or without the additional capability of performing localized neurochemistry regulation in subcortical areas. This apparatus is also used for neurochemical profiling of the diseased brain area or areas by analyzing the removed endogenous molecules and adjusting the composition of the delivered medication based on the patient's specific, abnormal neurochemistry within the treated area or areas.

Abstract: A method for diagnosing motility disorders of a gastrointestinal tract of a body. The method can include measuring electrical signals from the gastrointestinal tract while the patient is engaged in normal daily activities, recording the measured electrical signals on a portable electronic device carried by the body, recording by the patient in real time one or more symptoms of the body and analyzing characteristics of the recorded electrical signals with the recorded symptoms of the body to diagnosis gastrointestinal disorders of the body. Apparatus for use therewith and methods for treatment thereof are provided.
Abstract: An apparatus measures a supporting force of ferroconcrete piles by means of a bi-directional front end oil pressure loading apparatus using a high pressure loading system capable of measuring a supporting force, a sinking amount and an axis load distribution on the ferroconcrete piles.
Abstract: Method and apparatus for atomizing a liquid to form a fine powder. The method includes the steps of mixing the liquid with a first fluid medium jet and projecting this first fluid medium jet into a barrier means which comprises a solid body or a second fluid medium jet projected by a nozzle in a direction substantially opposite to the first fluid medium jet. The first fluid medium jet containing fine particles diverges away from the barrier means, thus increasing contact surface between the first fluid medium jet and the liquid and increasing the intermixing therebetween.
Abstract: The invention is a method and apparatus for atomizing metal melts by disintegration of a vertical tapping stream of the melt with the aid of horizontal media jets of pressurized gas. The media jets are formed by two slot-shaped nozzles or row of nozzles separate from each other. The jets are oriented to flow at an angle beta between the media jets. A zone is established between the media jets just prior to the intersection of the tapping stream with the media jets. The tapping liquid is drawn back into the zone by the media jets action.
