    Abstract: The invention relates to a vapor exhaust hood with a housing which features at least one intake opening equipped at a minimum with one filter, and features at least one outlet opening, and the inside surfaces of which are in part lined with a sound-deadening material, with a fan arranged in the housing. Arranged in the housing, at least opposite each inlet opening of the fan, is sound-absorbing material which from the opposite inlet opening is spaced at least the radius of the fan wheel. The sound-absorbing material has a surface which in size corresponds at least to a circular surface whose radius matches that of the fan wheel. Further measures for noise reduction consist in the arrangement of a vane in the area of the outlet opening, in the application of sound-deadening and/or sound-damping material as well as in the elastic mounting of fan and/or fan motor.

    Abstract: A coolant circuit, for example of a refrigerator or freezer unit, includes a coolant source at a very low temperature. A finger-type chilling member is thermoconductively connected to the coolant source and is adapted to be positioned within a tank containing water that is flowed to wash around the member. Thereby, the water freezes on the member in the form of a clear ice piece. A heating device is connected to the member to selectively heat the member to detach therefrom the ice piece formed thereon. A thermal barrier is connected to the member at a position to separate the heating device and that portion of the member on which the ice piece is formed from the coolant source. The thermal barrier thus limits cooling of the member by the coolant source and also limits transfer of heat from the heating device to the coolant source.

    Abstract: An ice dispensing and crushing apparatus is disclosed for dispensing and selectively crushing pieces of ice. The apparatus includes a supply bin for containing and supplying pieces of ice, a conveying trough formed at least partially within a lower portion of the supply bin and extending in an inclined manner toward a dispensing housing through which ice pieces can be dispensed. A helical conveyor is mounted for rotation in the conveying trough and is operable to convey individual pieces of ice one-by-one toward a dispensing opening formed in a lateral side of the dispensing housing. An ejection device, such as an ejection bar, is mounted adjacent the helical conveyor and acts to eject extra pieces of ice so as to assure the individual successive conveyance of the ice pieces.

    Abstract: An oven in which at least one cooling air blower generates a cooling air current in cooling air ducting in the housing containing an incoming air duct and an exhaust air duct, this current flowing through the space in the oven door between the outer panel of the oven door and an inner panel of the oven door. A more uniform cooling action on the surface of the panel of the oven door is achieved by designing the air ducting to match the temperature distribution on the outermost panel of the oven door with a varying air flow across the width of the door, the greatest volume of air flow occurring in the middle section.

    Abstract: A refrigerator and/or freezer for installation into a row of kitchen units has a door and a recessed base below the door, the recessed base being adapted to accommodate variable heights of the recessed base relative to the floor supporting the refrigerator/freezer and variable amounts of recession relative to the door. A main ventilation channel and two side ventilation channels are defined in the recessed base. The cooling unit is disposed in the recessed base and has compressors, a condenser and a fan for circulating air through the main ventilation channel and the side channels. An adjustable ventilation grille is disposed on the front portion of the ventilation channels by two fixed inner wall sections and two side wall sections movably supported on the fixed inner wall sections. The ventilation grille is mounted so as to be both vertically adjustable in discrete steps on the recessed base, as well as horizontally adjustable to adjust the amount of recession of the base.
