Abstract: Systems and methods for monitoring a fence system are disclosed. At least one power impulse is provided to the fence system, and at least one parameter of the power impulse on the fence system is measured a predetermined delay time after the impulse was supplied to the fence system. The measurement of the parameter continues for a predetermined duration after the predetermined delay time has expired, and one or more alarms are generated if the measured parameter falls outside of at least one threshold.

Abstract: A portable electric fence energizer is described, having a housing and an electric pulse generating circuit located within the housing. The energizer further includes a post securing mechanism configured to secure the housing relative to an electrically conductive post. The post securing mechanism includes at least one electrical contact configured to contact the post when secured by the post securing mechanism. A conductive link between the electrical contact and the electric pulse generating circuit may be used to provide an earth connection for the energiser, or an output connection between the electric pulse generating circuit and a wire of the electric fence.

Abstract: A security system and methods for managing same are disclosed. The security system include an on-site security system including one or more alarm condition sensors and at least one site control unit configured to communicate with the alarm condition sensors, and a security management service located remotely from the on-site security system and configured to communicate with the site control unit and at least one authorised user associated with the on-site security system. The service issues an alarm notification to at least one authorised user, the alarm notification identifying at least a sensor triggering issuance of the alarm notification, a location of the sensor, and a time of the sensor being triggered. The service monitors for acknowledgement of the alarm notification from the authorised user, and issues a response request to at least one security responder in the absence of an acknowledgement.

Abstract: An insulator for an electric fence, an electric fence system using the insulator, and a method of installing same are disclosed herein. The insulator includes a body having a first end and a second end, and a wire attachment portion positioned at the first end of the body. A passage passes through the wire attachment portion, the passage including a first open end, a second open end, and a waist region between the first open end and the second open end. The diameter of the passage at the first open end and the diameter of the second open end are both greater than at the waist region.

Abstract: An insulator for an electric fence having at least one wire is described. The insulator includes a body having a first end and a second end, a post connector portion at the first end of the body for connecting the insulator to a fence post, a wire attachment portion at the second end of the body, and at least one shield surrounding and extending outwardly from the body at a position away from the connector portion towards the second end, the shield including lateral portions on either side of the body. The lateral portions of the shield angle away from the second end of the body towards the first end of the body, such that when installed a straight section of the wire cannot bear against respective edges of both lateral portions simultaneously, and pass along their entire lengths, without contacting the fence post.

Abstract: A line strainer for use in an electric fence system is described. The line strainer includes a unitary body made of electrically non-conductive material, having two opposing arms, a spool mounting element for rotatably mounting an electrically conductive spool having at least one toothed flange between the arms of the body, wherein the spool is configured to have a first line secured to it. The line strainer further includes a line bearing support member about which a second line is to be passed and tensioned. A releasable pawl is attached to the unitary body and configured to engage with the at least one toothed flange to restrict rotation of the spool in one direction when the spool is rotatably mounted to the spool mounting element.

Abstract: A strainer for straining a length of material, the strainer including a tensioning device configured to tension a length of material between the strainer and an object, characterised in that the strainer includes a conductive component configured to contact the length of the material when held by the tensioning device, and wherein the conductive component includes an attachment portion for an external conductive link to the strainer. This invention also relates to a security system and its method of preparation using the strainer as described herein.

Abstract: A wire clamp is provided, having a body through which an aperture extends. An opening extending along a side of the body intersects with the aperture along its length. The wire clamp also includes a securing device configured to extend into the aperture.

Abstract: A fence system, post, and method of manufacture are herein disclosed. The post includes a shaft, and an overmold layer extending at least a portion of a length of the shaft. The overmold layer includes a plurality of external attachment locating features for selectively securing wire locating attachments at predetermined locations along the length of the shaft. The fence system includes a plurality of the posts and a plurality of wire locating attachments configured to be attached to the external attachment locating features of the posts.

Abstract: A line strainer for use in an electric fence system is described. Abstract: This invention relates to a mounting bracket including a body configured to engage with at least a part of a structure, the body includes an aperture for a fastener; a securing mechanism to secure the bracket to the structure; the securing mechanism includes a first and second fastener, the fasteners configured to engage with each other, the second fastener also engages with a second aperture of the body, the second fastener and second aperture includes a complementary guide and track in the form of a co-operating helical screw thread.

The flange (52) comprises two or more elongated apertures (54) therethrough which are spaced out along the length of the flange. The apparatus comprises a body (12) from which there extends two sets of projections (14A&B) and (16A&B). Each projection in each set respectively extends from the body to a distal end (18). Each of the sets (14), (16) comprises two projections A&B which extend from the body so as to define a recess R therebetween which is configured to receive the flange (52) therein. The distal ends (18) of the two projections (14) or (16) in a given set are able to locate in adjacency of a respective one of the elongated apertures (54) in the flange. At least one of the distal ends of at least one the projections comprises a passage (20) formed thereat. The passage (20) has a profile configured in a similar manner to that of the flange elongated aperture (54) adjacent to which it can be located in use.

Abstract: A nut and washer assembly, wherein the assembly includes a nut having a body configured with a pair of flanges defining a channel there between, wherein the first flange includes a gap there through, and a washer having an outer perimeter and an inner perimeter, wherein the washer also includes a plurality of projections, wherein a first projection arises proximate the inner perimeter and is complementary to the gap in the first flange of the nut and a second projection arises proximate the outer perimeter and is complementary to the channel of the nut.
