  • Patent number: 11878316
Abstract: A paint booth assembly includes a dry filtration system for filtering paint particles from a downdraft of air. The dry filtration system includes at least one filter module disposed in a paint filtration portion of a paint booth for receiving the downdraft of air. The filter module includes a plurality of filter drawers sequentially arranged relative to one another along a flow path of the downdraft of air, with each of the filter drawers slideable relative to a side wall between filtering and cleaning positions. In the filtering position, a disposable filter within the respective filter drawer is disposed within the paint filtration portion for filtering paint particles from the downdraft of process air. In the cleaning position, the respective filter drawer is slid out into an external environment of the paint booth for allowing the disposable filter to be removed and replaced by an operator.

  • Patent number: 11633752
Abstract: A paint booth assembly includes a paint booth having a pair of side walls and a flood sheet extending between the pair of side walls to separate the paint booth between a spray portion disposed above the flood sheet and a paint recovery portion disposed below the flood sheet. The flood sheet defines at least one flood sheet opening, and a scrubber unit extends down from the flood sheet opening to establish a shared path of fluid communication of a flow of water from the flood sheet and a downdraft of process air from the spray portion to the paint recovery portion. A scrubber pod is disposed within the scrubber unit and defines a plurality of perforations to induce an initial mixing of the paint particles entrained in the downdraft of process air into the flow of water.

  • Publication number: 20100032107
Abstract: An environmentally controlled enclosure having a cable system that supports a curtain. The use of a cable system to support curtain reduces the cost to manufacture the environmentally controlled enclosure. In this regard, rather than producing an enclosure system substantially formed of steel beams, the cable system requires only a frame formed to support the cable system. The reduction in steel used to form enclosures reduces the overall cost to manufacture the enclosure. Moreover, the cable system is relatively simple in design, which reduces the time to manufacture and set up enclosure.

  • Patent number: 5906078
Abstract: A clean environment enclosure assembly (10) fabricated of a framework comprising a plurality of struts (18, 118, 218) with a plastic sheet (20) suspended between the struts (18, 118, 218) to define an enclosed space (12). A cap (22, 122, 222) is secured to and extends longitudinally along each of the struts (18, 118, 218), the cap (22, 122, 222) presenting a generally planar outer surface (24, 124, 224) and a groove (26, 126, 226) extending longitudinally there along. The sheet (20) is disposed in the groove (26, 126, 226) and overlays the planar surface (24, 124, 224) of the cap (22, 122, 222). A retainer strip (28, 128, 228) is retained in the groove (26, 126, 226) to sandwich the sheet (20) in the groove (26, 126, 226).

  • Patent number: 5224306
Abstract: A clean environment enclosure assembly (10) prevents contaminants from reaching unfinished products during the manufacturing process. The clean environment enclosure assembly (10) includes a plurality of frames (16) which are secured to each other using various shaped brackets (60, 62, 64) to form a structural frame. Sheets of plastic (22) extend across each of the plurality of frames (16) to complete the housing (14). The sheets of plastic (22) are secured to side members (18) of the frames (16) by elongated caps (24) which run the length of the side members (18). The caps (24) have two arms (30, 32) which engage the two substantially parallel side walls (42) of the side members (18) wherein detents (38,40) of the two arms (30, 32) engage indents (44, 46) of the parallel side walls (42) preventing the cap (24) from freely disengaging the side member (18). The sheets of plastic (22) are sandwiched between the cap (24) and the side members (18).

  • Patent number: 4885010
Abstract: An improved scrubbing apparatus is disclosed which is particularly well suited for use in spray booths for extracting particulate matter entrained in a gas stream flowing therethrough. The scrubbing apparatus of the present invention combines an elongated throat and an elongated trough positioned therebelow which cooperate to define a first elongated constriction through which the gas stream is drawn. The trough also includes an angularly extended portion which defines a second constriction through which the gas stream is subsequently directed. Flood sheets are also provided across which a continous flow of liquid is passed which becomes atomized as it flows through the first and second constrictions so as to thereby effect a scrubbing of the gas stream and removal of the entrained particulate matter. The first constriction also serves to substantially reduce passage of air or gas thereacross when the apparatus is not in operation.

  • Patent number: 3948347
Abstract: A sandwich type acoustical panel comprising a fibrous matrix, a diaphragmatic plastic skin overlying the matrix, a perforated metal face sheet spaced from the plastic skin, and means disposed between the metal sheet and plastic skin creating an air space therebetween. The space permits sound-activated air to be distributed over the plastic skin.
