Abstract: An embodiment of the gaming system includes at least one voucher dispenser (11). Each voucher (24) is associated with data. A gaming controller 8 is communicatively linked to the voucher dispenser (11) and it receives and stores the data. At least one game, in particular a table game such as roulette, is configured to generate game results and communicate them to the gaming controller (8). The embodiment also includes at least one activator device (28) at which the vouchers (24) are activatable. The activator devices are communicatively linked to the gaming controller (8) such that an activation of a voucher (24) causes the gaming controller (8) to determine a redeemable value of the voucher (24) based upon the game results of a number of game plays. Another embodiment of the gaming system does not require the players to activate the vouchers.

The side bet wagers are independent of wagers placed on the roulette game. Two or more side game symbols are selected from a first symbol set which are playable in the game of roulette. Each of the side game symbols are assigned a payout value, such that at least one of the assigned payout values is a fixed payout value utilized for each play of the side game and another of the assigned payout values is a variable payout value. A determination is made if any of the selected side game symbols match a winning roulette symbol. Side game prizes are awarded to winning side bet players according to the corresponding assigned payout value.
