    Abstract: A shanked solid tooth for an excavator bucket. The shank in use fits into an adapter in the form of a tooth socket which is secured to a bucket. The shank has a transverse passage therethrough which is adapted to entirely receive a fastener therein. The fastener has a pair of pivoted fastening members biased apart by a resilient block which lock the tooth when it is forced into the adapter.
