Patent number: 10844133Abstract: The invention relates to the treatment and/or prevention of tumor diseases associated with cells expressing CLDN6, in particular cancer and cancer metastasis using antibodies which bind to CLDN6. The present application demonstrates that the binding of antibodies to CLDN6 on the surface of tumor cells is sufficient to inhibit growth of the tumor and to prolong survival and extend the lifespan of tumor patients. Furthermore, binding of antibodies to CLDN6 is efficient in inhibiting growth of CLDN6 positive germ cell tumors such as teratocarcinomas or embryonal carcinomas, in particular germ cell tumors of the testis.Type: GrantFiled: January 9, 2018Date of Patent: November 24, 2020Assignees: Ganymed Pharmaceuticals GmbH, Johannes Gutenberg-Universitat MainzInventors: Ugur Sahin, Ozlem Tureci, Michael Koslowski, Korden Walter, Maria Kreuzberg, Sylvia Luxen

Patent number: 10137195Abstract: The present invention generally provides a therapy for effectively treating and/or preventing diseases associated with cells expressing CLDN18.2, in particular cancer diseases such as gastroesophageal cancer. Data are presented demonstrating that administration of an anti-CLDN18.2 antibody to human patients with gastroesophageal cancer is safe and well-tolerated up to a dose of at least 1000 mg/m2. Furthermore, data are presented demonstrating that the antibody is fully functional in these patients to execute anti-tumor cell effects and evidence for antitumoral activity was obtained.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 2014Date of Patent: November 27, 2018Assignees: Ganymed Pharmaceuticals GmbH, TRON—Translationale Onkologie an der Universitätsmedizin der Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz gGmbHInventors: Ugur Sahin, Özlem Türeci
