    Abstract: A conveyor system and method includes spraying equipment for sanitizing upper side and underside surfaces of a conveyor belt for handling produce. Water and chemical composition sprayed on the belt at prescribed pressures, and the temperature control of all applicable components significantly reduce microbe and contaminant concentrations on surfaces that contact the produce for the shelf life of produce that contacted sanitized surfaces of the conveyor system.
