Publication number: 20130140051Abstract: A hand-guided apparatus may include an operating lever, a switch, and an intermediate lever. The operating lever may actuate a function of the hand-guided apparatus, be constructed in an elongated manner and be pivotably attached to a housing of the apparatus. The switch actuates the function and is arranged in the housing. The intermediate lever mechanically actuates the switch. The operating lever includes a safety element enabled to be pretensioned and shifted along a longitudinal axis of the operating lever. The operating lever and the intermediate lever are enabled to be mechanically coupled by shifting the safety element into a pretensioned state to enable actuation of the switch by pivoting of the operating lever. The operating lever and the intermediate lever are enabled to be mechanically decoupled by shifting the safety element into a relaxed state to prevent actuation of the switch by pivoting of the operating lever.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 9, 2012Publication date: June 6, 2013Applicant: Gardena Manufacturing GmbHInventors: Peter Rudolph, Martin Lugert, Runo Malkolmsson

Publication number: 20130008563Abstract: For hand-operated garden shears, in particular tree-pruning shears, with a ratchet mechanism, it is proposed that, between a hand lever (H2) and a scissor lever (H1) between which a ratchet lever (RH) can engage in different latching positions according to the ratchet mechanism, there is also provided, in addition, a preferably rotatable abutment surface (AF) on the hand lever (H2) and a mating bearing surface (GF) on the lever extension, or vice versa, which, at the end of an initial closing operation with the ratchet lever (RH) in a first ratchet position, allow a continuation of the cutting operation as a direct cut without further use of the ratchet mechanism.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 25, 2010Publication date: January 10, 2013Applicant: GARDENA MANUFACTURING GMBHInventor: Bernhard Reh

Publication number: 20110226871Abstract: The invention relates to the mechanical inversion of direction of a rotating control component of a landscape sprinkler device. Such a device, having a switching member with end stops associated therewith in both pivoting directions the control component, against said stops the switching member stops and is actuated, wherein at least one end stop can be adjusted coaxially with respect to a pivoting axis of the control component. According to the invention the switching member is configured in an elastically resilient manner on the contact region (6) thereof that is positioned at the height of the end stops (10, 11) such that the contact region retreats back from the adjusting path of the end stop in case of an overload, and means (14) are provided in order to re-establish the contact region at a defined position in the rotation angle region between the two end slops from the retreated position.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 10, 2009Publication date: September 22, 2011Applicant: GARDENA MANUFACTURING GMBHInventor: Thomas Renner

Publication number: 20060076152Abstract: A soil cultivation appliance, especially a lawnmower, which can be motor-driven or manually driven. The appliance is provided with a steering shaft and a steering frame or wheel for the operator. The steering device enables the soil cultivation appliance to change direction due to the fact that torque is introduced into the housing of the soil cultivation appliance by the steering shaft. The torque is used to change the direction of the advancing movement, to the left or to the right, without needing to steer the wheels. An advantage of the appliance is that, when the steering shaft is arranged on the housing in a continuously pivotable manner, the position of the operator is independent from a thrust frame or the like, by which means the soil cultivation appliance must be mechanically guided.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 6, 2005Publication date: April 13, 2006Applicant: GARDENA Manufacturing GmbHInventors: Reiner Haufele, Wolfgang Lindermeir, Ulrich Schaub

Patent number: 7021669Abstract: A coupling part for a fluid coupling device, especially a hose coupling, which has a looking device switchable between two positions. The locking device has locking elements mounted on a base body, and a socket-shaped actuating element that interacts with the locking elements. The coupling part is switchable between a retaining and releasing positions by an axial releasing movement of the actuating element. In the retaining position, the locking elements hold the counterpart of the coupling, e.g. a hose stem, to prevents it from being pulled out and, in the releasing position, the locking elements release the same in order to disengage the coupling. The actuating element can be moved from the retaining position into a locking position, prohibiting a releasing movement, by rotating the actuating element in a limited manner around the longitudinal axis of the coupling. As a result, the coupling is prevented from being unintentionally disengaged.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 2000Date of Patent: April 4, 2006Assignee: Gardena Manufacturing GmbHInventors: Wolfgang Lindermeir, Ulrich Schaub, Reiner Haeufele
