Patent number: 5863129Abstract: A series of flow control mixing devices used in a mixing chamber in a spray gun, or the like, to more thoroughly mix multi-components in a mixing chamber, consists of three different types of cylindrical mixing elements sealingly held in the chamber. Each of the mixing elements contains a pair of inlets, a central chamber and an outlet, connected together so as to mix entering components therein, and passing these mixed components to the outlet. Two of the types of mixing elements include a mixing reservoir or chamber formed on a top surface thereof. A plurality of second mixing elements are secured over a first or downstream mixing element, and a final or third mixing element is provided upstream of the other elements. The first element includes a spacing member on the lower surface, and all the mixing elements include O-ring seals held in grooves formed on the outer periphery thereof.Type: GrantFiled: January 5, 1998Date of Patent: January 26, 1999Assignee: Gary A. Patent number: 5398582Abstract: A wire clamping ligature for use with single reed musical instruments such as clarinets and saxophones which includes two retaining wires extending circumferentially around the mouthpiece and reed of the instrument to affix the reed to the mouthpiece and yet allow normal musical vibration thereof wherein the retaining wires are approximately thirty thousandths of an inch (0.030 inches) and including two drawbars each attached to the opposite ends of the two retaining wires with an adjustable clamp secured therebetween. The adjustable clamp can comprise one or two threaded screws rotatably mounted in one drawbar and threadedly engaged with respect to the other drawbar to urge the drawbars together for tightening of the two retaining wires about the reed and mouthpiece for detachably affixing them together.Type: GrantFiled: April 1, 1993Date of Patent: March 21, 1995Assignees: Mobile Music Inc., Gary Smith, Joseph StefanoInventor: Gary T. Patent number: 5291817Abstract: An apparatus for varying the length of the barrel of a woodwind musical instrument by providing adjustability in the length thereof which includes two tubular members which are telescopingly movable with respect to one another and include a primary gear rack mounted on the second tubular member and a rotatably movable adjustment wheel mounted on the first tubular member with a gear fixedly secured to the adjustment wheel and in engagement with respect to the teeth of the primary gear rack such that movement of the adjustment wheel will cause movement of the primary gear rack and relative movement between the first and second tubular member for adjusting or tuning of the length between the first and second tubular members. Each tubular member defines a bore extending centrally therealong which is coincident on the same longitudinally extending bore axis. A locking device is included for selectively fixedly securing the first and second tubular members with respect to one another as desired.Type: GrantFiled: January 12, 1993Date of Patent: March 8, 1994Assignees: Mobile Music, Inc., Gary Smith, Joseph StefanoInventor: Gary Smith

Patent number: 5253563Abstract: An apparatus for supporting of one or more musical instruments and preventing damage thereto as well as providing gentle heating thereof during non-usage. The apparatus includes multiple spacing means for maintaining a clear air flow channel between the instrument and the mounting peg to facilitate even heating of the instrument. The device includes a plurality of apertures for facilitating heat flow into contact with the instrument and a plurality of mounting locations upon a rotatable base for facilitating positioning of more than one instrument with respect thereto. A device is also included for introducing moisture into the warm air flow for the even heating and the maintenance of a moist condition of a held musical instrument to maintain tonal qualities thereof. A clip retaining device is included for holding the spacing devices when not in use.The apparatus is usable for supporting many different types of musical instruments, in particular woodwinds, by utilizing a single universally usable peg.Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 1992Date of Patent: October 19, 1993Assignees: Mobile Music, Gary Smith, Joseph StefanoInventor: Gary Smith

Patent number: 4926735Abstract: A musical instrument stand which includes a plurality of mounting stations for holding various musical instruments which is rotatable to facilitate a musician changing instruments quickly and which is heated to maintain the temperature of all instruments at the normal operating temperature to improve and control tonal qualities. The instrument stand includes a base with a platform being generally circular and rotatably movable with rerspect to the base. A heat chamber is defined between the platform and the base to act as a reservoir for heated air. A heating device is adapted to heat air which is transported into the air chamber. Instrument support members are attachable with respect to mounting stations defined on the platform. Attachment of a support member biases a flap to an opened position to allow heated air to flow upwardly to contact the musical instrument for maintaining it at operating temperature.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 1989Date of Patent: May 22, 1990Assignees: Mobile Music, Inc., Gary Smith, Joseph StefanoInventor: Gary Smith
