Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method of standardizing the construction of a power distribution device that includes power conveying wires, a plurality of receptacles, a power conveying flexible bus assembly, a plurality of power connection boards, a plurality of circuit breakers, a standardized receptacle module carrier, and a customized cover. The standardized receptacles and the receptacle printed circuit boards are configured into modules arranged and aligned about the standardized receptacle module carrier. The standardized receptacle module carrier is attached to the standardized common chassis. A customized cover is attached to the standardized common chassis.
Abstract: Power distribution units, power distribution systems, and related methods for controlling relay switches of electrical cords are disclosed herein. According to an aspect, a PDU includes multiple electrical plug receptacles for operatively connecting to one or more electrical cords for providing power to the electrical cord(s) to transmit power to connected electronic devices. The electrical cord(s) each include a switching relay configured to control transmission of power via the respective electrical cord. The switching relay is configured to receive a control signal for controlling the transmission of power. The PDU includes a connector to a power source configured to supply power to the electrical plug receptacles. Further, the PDU includes a communications module configured to individually route control signals to the switching relays for individually controlling transmission of power via the respective electrical cord(s).
Abstract: Electrical plug latching systems and related methods are disclosed. According to an aspect, an electrical plug latching system includes a base having an interface for attachment to an electrical plug receptacle. The base defines an opening for receipt of an electrical plug for electrical connection to the electrical plug receptacle. The electrical plug defines a protrusion. Further, the system includes a latch that is attached to the base and that includes a gripper portion. The gripper portion is moveable between a first position and a second position with respect to the base. In the first position, the gripper portion is positioned to interface with the protrusion of the electrical plug to hold the electrical plug in place when electrically connected to the electrical plug receptacle. In the second position. the gripper portion is positioned apart from the protrusion of the electrical plug.
