Abstract: A sucker rod coupling tool and method for either breaking or tightening the threaded joint between a sucker rod and the coupling that joins the sucker rod to the next sucker rod. A base plate has a backup wrench mounted to one end and a friction wrench actuated by a hydraulic piston pivotally affixed to the base plate at the other end. An inversion loop is affixed to the base plate and rotatably suspended below a control platform to accommodate inversion of the base plate along with the backup wrench and the friction wrench. The control platform also supports the control levers and can be raised and lowered to allow the backup wrench to engage the sucker rod.

Abstract: A tubing unloader for draining liquid from production tubing in an oil well. The tubing unloader has a hollow throughbore so as to form a part of the production tubing until it is necessary to drain the production tubing. The tubing unloader has two basic parts which telescopically cooperate to close or open drain holes in the tubing unloader. The bottom portion of the tubing unloader is a hollow cylinder configured as an outer mandrel body having a pair of J-slots formed on an internal surface. The top portion of the tubing unloader is a hollow cylinder configured as an inner mandrel having a pair of J-lugs protruding from its external surface. The inner mandrel includes a sliding valve and is telescopically received in the outer mandrel body in slide fit relationship with the J-lugs slidingly engaged in the J-slots.
Abstract: A cleanout tool for removing debris from a deep borehole, the borehole being characterized by having a relatively low hydrostatic head or level of liquid in the borehole. A series of unique check valves acting in cooperation with a pumping section are used to collect the debris into the debris reservoirs while passing the liquid upwardly through the cleanout tool. The check valves are unique in the fact that they are less prone to plugging and two sets are supplied in pairs so as to provide an extra margin of valving efficiency. The cleanout tool is operable in under low hydrostatic head conditions due to its improved pumping efficiency.
