Abstract: A method and system for process control configuration changes are described. In one embodiment, a method for switching from a first control algorithm to a second control algorithm in a continuous process control system is described. The method, in the one embodiment, includes executing the first control algorithm, determining to switch from the first control algorithm to the second control algorithm, and executing the second control algorithm. For at least a first execution of the second control algorithm, at least one state variable used in the second control algorithm is adjusted.
Abstract: A method and systems for a redundant server automatic fail-over system is provided. The system includes a plurality of client devices communicatively coupled to a network wherein the plurality of client devices each includes an active server identification location. The system also includes a first server system communicatively coupled to the network that is configured to operate as the active server on the network wherein messages sent to the first server system are addressed to the first server system using the active server identification location on each client device. The system further includes a second server system communicatively coupled to the network that is configured to operate as a standby server on the network and is configured to switch to being the active server on the network when it is determined that the first server system is unable to operate as the active server.
Abstract: The present disclosure is related to a heatsink and a method for forming a heatsink. In one embodiment, a method for forming the heatsink includes forming at least one thermo pyrolytic graphite element. The at least one TPG element includes a first side having a wedge-shaped surface and a second side having a flat surface. The method further includes layering a metal material over the at least one TPG element, the metal configured to be complementary to the first side of the at least one TPG element, and applying pressure to fasten the metal material to the at least one TPG element.
