    Abstract: A mounted storage device includes a mount for mounting the device on a vertical surface. A load arm is supported on the mount and structured to support an object thereon. The load arm is movable between a load position for loading the object on the load arm and a store position for storing the supported object. The storage device also includes a force device connected between the mount and the load arm that urges the load arm in a direction from the load position to the store position. The storage device further includes a resistance damper connected between the mount and the load arm that resists movement of the load arm in both directions between the load position and the store position. The resistance damper includes a plurality of damper members that creates the resistance by at least one of friction and compression tension between the damper members.

The support further includes a base for mounting the device. The base includes a base tube. The anchor is swivel-mounted on the base. The anchor tube can rotate relative to the base tube to allow the anchor to swivel. The device also includes an arm mounted on and pivotally supported by the anchor. The arm is movable between first and second arm positions. The arm has an attachment for supporting the bicycle thereon. The device also includes a spring device connected between the support and the arm. The spring device is movable from a retracted position to an extended position. The movement of the spring device generates a force to urge the arm from the first arm position to the second arm position. The device also includes a damper connected between the support and the arm to resist movement of the arm from the second arm position to the first arm position.

    Abstract: A wall-mounted storage device for lifting and storing an object includes a stand adapted for mounting the device on the wall. An arm is pivotally connected to the stand and has an attachment for the object. An anchor member is also pivotally connected to the stand. A damper is connected between the anchor member and the stand. The damper is adapted to extend when pulled upward by the pivoting anchor member. A lockable spring is connected between the anchor member and the arm. The device includes a trigger mechanism adapted to unlock the spring when the object is attached to the arm. When the spring is unlocked, the spring is adapted to extend to push the arm upward. When the spring is locked, the pivoting anchor member and the extendible damper cooperate to enable the arm to be manually lifted. The damper provides a controlled descent when the arm is lowered.
