Abstract: A roller grinding mill is provided that includes a grinding plate, grinding rollers, and at least two drives acting upon the grinding plate, and to a method for operating such a roller grinding mill. At least one grinding roller and substantially simultaneously at least one matching drive can be disengaged during operation. Thus only small radial forces are created that effect the radial bearing of the grinding plate.

Abstract: A drive systems for a roller mill is provided. To ensure the continuous availability of the mill, more than two drives are provided, wherein the at least two drives are capable of achieving the full grinding capacity of the roller mill.

Abstract: A method and device for producing cement is provided, whereby cement clinker and material containing sulfate and optionally, additional constituent parts are ground in a roller mill to the consistency of flour. In a separate apparatus, the sulfur-containing material is heated, dehydrated and calcined to a desired temperature, is conveyed into the roller mill immediately thereafter, where, together with the remaining constituent parts, it is ground.

Abstract: A roller mill having a grinding plate revolving around a vertical central axis and a plurality of grinding rollers arranged in grinding rolling contact with the grinding plate is constructed with a separate frame supporting each of the grinding rollers for rotation about a stationary axis, with each frame having projections at both its ends constructed to form a connecting joint between the frames at each of the ends thereof.

Abstract: A bowl mill pulverizer includes a mill housing supported on and extending upwardly from a foundation. A milling bowl is supported within the housing for rotation about a vertical axis. A frame is located over the bowl with arms extending downwardly from the frame and rotatably supporting grinding rolls positioned within the bowl. Upwardly extending pull rods are secured at their upper ends to the frame and at their lower ends to the foundation. The pull rods press the grinding rolls downwardly against the bowl. The pull rods are disposed at an angle to the vertical and slope outwardly and downwardly toward the foundation.

Abstract: A seal arrangement is provided for the pull rods extending out of a rolling mill housing through a housing passageway where a spring suspension is located at the ends of the pull rods exteriorly of the housing. In such an arrangement pull rods experience motion in the axial and radial directions. In affording a satisfactory seal, the pull rods extend through a sleeve as they pass from the interior of the housing into the housing passageway. A first ball-and-socket joint is located within the sleeve closely enclosing the pull rod. A second ball-and-socket joint is located around the exterior of the sleeve within the housing passageway. In pressure mills, a sealing air connection may be provided for the housing passageway and a further seal provided by a bellows located on the exterior of the housing extending between the pull rod and the outlet from the housing passageway.

Abstract: A separator for the particles of a particle-air stream is provided which is capable of varying the composition of the particles obtained from the stream by providing typical swirling-air type separators with a by-pass whereby a portion of the original particle-air stream can be passed by the separation zone without being acted on by the swirling air.
