Patent number: 4640078Abstract: The invention relates to a composite bar for example for window or door frames or shutters comprising a plastic hollow profile bar with an inner and outer surface.Adjacent said surfaces substantially parallel thereto a metal flange is inserted into the interior of the plastic hollow profile bar. To increase the resistance to bending of this frame with respect to forces perpendicular to the window pane or door leaf without substantially reducing the thermal insulation the two metal flanges are connected together in shear-transmitting manner without metallic contact.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 1985Date of Patent: February 3, 1987Assignee: Gebruder Kommerling Kunststoffwerke GmbHInventor: Dieter Haffer

Patent number: 4601953Abstract: In a hollow plastic rolling shutter slat coated on the weather side with a metal layer for reducing the heat transfer while retaining the resistance to bending the inner side of the building-side profile wall is also coated with a metal layer, a minimum spacing always being provided between the two metal layers to insure the thermal insulation. The metal layers have at least one surface reflecting thermal radiation or reducing thermal irradiation. For obtaining the necessary resistance to bending the inner transverse webs of the hollow plastic rolling shutter bar are formed in such a manner that they transmit the shear stresses occurring on bending.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 1985Date of Patent: July 22, 1986Assignee: Gebruder Kommerling Kunststoffwerke GmbHInventor: Dieter Haffer

Patent number: 4108422Abstract: An arrangement for supporting a railing provided with a T-shaped groove and a slot communicating with the groove comprises a hollow supporting member and a T-shaped clamping element. The clamping element includes two clamping members each of which members has a first portion insertable in the hollow of the supporting member and a second portion insertable in the T-shaped groove of the railing. The clamping members are movable relative to each other in the longitudinal direction of the supporting member. The first portions of the clamping members are elongated in a direction of elongation of the supporting member, whereas the second portions are formed as pin-shaped projections each having an axis. The pin-shaped second portion of one of the clamping members is offset relative to the pin-shaped second portion of the other clamping member in a direction transverse to the axes thereof and to the elongation of the first portion.Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 1977Date of Patent: August 22, 1978Assignee: Gebruder Kommerling Kunststoffwerke GmbHInventor: Horst Fleischmann

Patent number: 4104000Abstract: An arrangement for supporting a railing and the like has a hollow base member, a hollow bar-shaped member telescopable over the base member, and a clamping element insertable in the base member and spreadable apart so as to spread the base member into clamping engagement with the bar-shaped member. The clamping element has two clamping portions which are partially separated from each other over a plane extending in a direction of elongation of the clamping element and are movable relative to each other in a direction transverse to the direction of elongation. Means are provided for spreading apart the clamping portion, including screws screwable in one of the clamping portions. The clamping portions each has a section outwardly projecting from the base member and adapted to be spread into clamping engagement with the bar-shaped member. The base member and the bar-shaped member have holes provided in walls adjacent to the clamping portion so that the screws may be screwed in the latter through such holes.Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 1977Date of Patent: August 1, 1978Assignee: Gebruder Kommerling Kunststoffwerke GmbHInventor: Horst Fleischmann
