Patent number: 5326541Abstract: An endless steel band or belt (12) moves upwardly (see arrow 65). The upper length or run (17) of the band or belt (12) is cooled or heated by a fluid flowing from nozzles (43, 59). A feeding station (21) supplies a liquid mixture which mixture runs downwardly along the crystallizing surface (11) of the belt. A crystal layer is thus formed on the crystallizing surface 11. This crystal layer is moved upwardly in counter-current. The remaining liquid, the mother liquor, which is substantially free from crystallizable substance, flows downwardly. A device (22) for changing the inclination angle (.alpha.) of the crystallizing surface permits the crystallizing device to be adjusted in a simple way in accordance with the requirement of the crystallizating process. For automatic operation, a control unit (C) can associate the angle of inclination (.alpha.Type: GrantFiled: November 25, 1991Date of Patent: July 5, 1994Assignees: Gebruder Sulzer Aktiengesellschaft, Sandvik Process Systems GmbHInventors: Joachim Ulrich, Manfred Stepanski, Yavus Oezoguz

Patent number: 4776177Abstract: In the tube (41) of a tube assembly of a crystallization apparatus, an insert (43) is provided which increases the effective surface in the interior of the tube (41). The insert has subsequent different sections (45, 46, 47). Seen in direction of flow the effective surface per unit of length of a subsequent section (46, 47) is larger than the effective surface of the previous section (45, 46). Because the heat removal by the coolant is a limiting factor for the kinetics of crystallization, the amount of crystals produced per unit of length of the tube is not substantially increased by the insert, but a smaller linear growth velocity is obtained at the surface of the crystals. This provides for better conditions for forming clean crystals. Patent number: 4669514Abstract: In the weft insertion nozzle arrangement containing at least two weft insertion nozzles the mixing tube of one weft insertion nozzle is set with its outflow or discharge end of end region parallel to a weft insertion line. The outflow or discharge end or end region of the mixing tube associated with the other weft insertion nozzle is set at a small angle of about 3.degree. relative to the weft insertion line. The entire weft insertion nozzle arrangement is fixedly mounted at a weaving machine member carrying such weft insertion nozzle arrangement. Movable control members for displacing the weft insertion nozzles and faulty operations associated therewith are thus eliminated. Tests have shown that the weft insertion can be reliably accomplished even when the mixing tube of the other weft insertion nozzle is set at such small angle of inclination relative to the weft insertion line.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 1985Date of Patent: June 2, 1987Assignee: Gebruder Sulzer AktiengesellschaftInventor: Petrus G. Patent number: 4667705Abstract: The invention relates to a weft change system for a weaving machine, the known complicated switching and release mechanism for the movement of a selection quadrant with weft thread holding devices being simplified by the tension-loadable or compression-loadable springs provided in the known mechanism being replaced by compressed air cylinders, in particular double-acting compressed air cylinders, which can be actuated by a computer-controlled programming device and whereby the complete complicated drive mechanism of the known systems can be dispensed with.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 1986Date of Patent: May 26, 1987Assignee: Gebruder Sulzer AktiengesellschaftInventors: Henri G. Patent number: 4532964Abstract: In the method the auxiliary nozzles are used individually or in groups to form a pressure wave travelling together with the front end of the weft thread through the weaving shed. Individual auxiliary nozzles or groups of auxiliary nozzles are maintained in a cut-off position for a certain amount of time after the front end of the weft thread has passed, however, are again cut-in, particularly prior to the moment of time at which the weft insertion operation ends, so that a trailing travelling wave is formed. Using such method the air consumption can be maintained at low levels. Particularly when individual auxiliary nozzles are cut-in only for short intervals of time in the trailing travelling wave, a particularly low air consumption can be achieved. By employing a trailing travelling wave, a lower air pressure also can be used for generating the pressure wave travelling with the front end of the weft thread.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 1983Date of Patent: August 6, 1985Assignee: Gebruder Sulzer AktiengesellschaftInventor: Hansueli Lerch

Patent number: 4359785Abstract: In patients with hypoplastic hip joints, hip joint prostheses with relatively thin and narrow shank blades must be used. For this reason, due to the torque effect of the force acting on the joint head, the danger exists that deformations of the shank blades may occur. This danger is counteracted in that the collar type projection forming the transition between the shank and the prosthesis neck extends in a direction parallel to the prosthesis neck, preferably in a prolongation of the lower edge of the prosthesis neck.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 1980Date of Patent: November 23, 1982Assignee: Gebruder Sulzer, Aktiengesellschaft Protek A.G.Inventor: Peter G.
