Patents Assigned to Gebruder Welger
  • Patent number: 5063841
Abstract: In a reciprocating piston press where a compressing piston operates in a nonuniform manner, the piston cooperates with conveyor prongs which move material into the path of the piston. The conveyor prongs are guided by a crank and rocker linkage mechanism by way of elliptical gear wheels for movement around a kidney-shaped orbit. The prongs perform a more rapid motion in the region of a fill opening for charging material into a compaction channel containing the compressing piston. The reciprocating piston press is, in particular, employed for compacting cardboard waste in combination with a feeder space which opens into the compaction channel for charging cardboard waste into the channel. The feeder space and piston press are located in a stationary housing.

  • Patent number: 5012733
Abstract: A method and apparatus for helically-shaped binding of round bales consisting of harvested agricultural crops using two cord strands, which respectively wrap around somewhat more than half of the bale for shortening the binding period, one cord strand being cut off to begin with and the other cord strand being wrapped several times around the previously cut-off strand prior to being cut-off itself. In order to avoid a mutual loosening of the severed cord ends after severing the cord strands upon termination of the binding process.

  • Patent number: 4708565
Abstract: A device for stacking rectangular bales of stalky material connected directly at the compression duct of a baling press consists of a horizontal platform supported to be displaceable in vertical guides and capable of being lowered from an uppermost position in several stages corresponding to the height of a bale to be stacked. The lowering stages are determined by mechanical pawls and the lowering movement is triggered automatically by a bale when reaching its end position via a bale sensing device. In order that entwining of material at the point of separation between adjoining bales of stalky material does not disturb the lowering movement, a forward bale is forcefully separated from a succeeding bale before lowering by additional forward feed elements controlled by bale sensing devices.

  • Patent number: 4378732
Abstract: Apparatus for forming roll bales of agricultural harvest material operating to helically tie the roll bales with twine is provided with a twine guide member moving along a front intake aperture of the baler and automatically controlled by a ratchet and pawl mechanism. The guide member is biased toward a lateral rest position by a spring. An actuating line is attached to the guide member to enable the guide member to be moved to an opposite lateral start position against the force of the spring. The actuating line is wound around a pulley of the ratchet and pawl mechanism. The ratchet and pawl mechanism includes a releasing disc which is driven by the twine itself during a tying operation and which carries a lifting cam which alternately disengages a pair of pawls of the ratchet and pawl mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4372104
Abstract: In an agricultural pick-up baler a pick-up device loads harvested agricultural material into a supply passage connected to the inlet opening into a compressing channel, said inlet opening being located in the bottom of said compressing channel. A pressing ram is reciprocated back and forth in the compressing channel by at least one connecting rod and compacts the material introduced into the compressing channel. A conveying device fixed to the connecting rods extends into the supply passage and moves the agricultural material from the pick-up device through the supply passage toward the inlet of the compressing channel. A packing device located in the supply passage moves the agricultural material received from the conveying device through the inlet into the compressing channel. The path of travel of the conveying device within the supply passage passes through the path of travel of the packing device.

  • Patent number: 4240339
Abstract: In pressing cardboard waste material and the like into a bale, the waste material is fed into a housing containing a pair of conveyor belts with a portion of each conveyor belt spaced from the other and forming therebetween a press chamber. The portion of the conveyor belts forming the press chamber are each driven in a different direction and the waste material is fed into the press chamber by one of the conveyor belts. As the waste material is rolled into a bale by the oppositely moving portions of the conveyor belts, the portion of the conveyor belts move outwardly away from one another increasing the volume of the press chamber and accommodating the increasing size of the bale. When the bale is completed, it is wound with a cord-like member and then one of the conveyor belts is pivoted away from the completed bale so that the bale can be displaced from the housing.

  • Patent number: 4176596
Abstract: To form round bales of fibrous agricultural material, windrowed material is fed into a baling zone formed within a frame. The frame is formed of a stationery front part and a rear part pivotally connected to the front part. Circumferential peripheral surface of the baling zone is lined with conveying elements, either belts, chains, drums, rollers or the like can be used. The material enters in the lower portion of the front part through an opening between two adjacent conveying elements. As it is carried along by the conveying elements, the material is turned over on itself gradually producing a round bale limited in size by the circumferential periphery of the baling zone. As the zone becomes filled, the conveying elements compress the material, wherein the inner layers fold together in a stellate manner. When the bale is completed the rear part pivots away from the front part to discharge the bale.

  • Patent number: 4133258
Abstract: A device for helically binding or wrapping a compacted rolled bale of windrowed agricultural crop material with twine, the crop material is rolled and compressed into a bale in a baling machine which includes a pair of spaced rolling members supported between a pair of spaced side walls of the baling machine. The rollers extend across the width of the machine and the gap between the spaced rollers forms the inlet through which the crop material is fed into the baling machine. A twine guide assembly, for guiding a strand of twine into and along the gap between the rollers, is mounted for movement in a straight linear path along and parallel to the gap formed between the rollers so that the twine can be uniformly fed to the bale.

  • Patent number: 4078733
Abstract: A large rolled bale of agricultural material is separated and distributed by placement upon a first and a second endless conveyer placed end to end and driven in the same direction to turn the rolled bale while drawing therefrom portions of the agricultural material from which the bale is composed. As the bale is rotated, agricultural material drawn from the bale by tines extending from the second endless conveyer is deposited from the discharge end of the second endless conveyer. The endless conveyers are arranged with an inclined posture relative to the horizontal with the second conveyer having a steeper incline than the first conveyer and with the second conveyer being driven at a higher speed than the first conveyer.
