  • Patent number: 10213860
Abstract: A scarfing head (100) is proposed for scarfing a surface of a workpiece produced by casting, in particular a slab, with a gas outlet side (400) for gases for scarfing, wherein a flame for scarfing can be formed at the gas outlet side; with a plurality of cutting nozzles (120) which are individually fixed on the gas outlet side; and with a central gas conduit (110) in the scarfing head; wherein the plurality of cutting nozzles (120) are disposed around the central gas conduit (110); wherein the scarfing head (100) is so designed that heating gas (150) and heating oxygen (150) can exit through this plurality of cutting nozzles; and wherein the scarfing head (100) is further so arranged that scarfing oxygen can emerge through the central gas conduit (110). Thus a particularly high heating performance is achieved over a comparatively large area. The maintenance and cleaning of the scarfing head is significantly facilitated through the use of many individually fixed cutting nozzles.

  • Patent number: 9782849
Abstract: Scarfing machine (1) for scarfing hot and cold work pieces (2), such as slabs, blooms and billets made from steel in and downstream of continuous casting plants with a roller table (3) arranged in the direction of transport of the work piece, on which the work piece (2) to be scarfed can be moved back and forth. The scarfing machine (1) is set up in a gap (4) formed in the roller table (3) which has a U-shaped beam (7) with a scarfing unit (10) in the form of a rack of manifolds arranged crosswise to the roller table (3). The height of the burner beam (7) can be adjusted and it can be pivoted approximately 180° on a horizontal axis (8) around the top, bottom and cut sides of the work piece (2) by means of a swivelling drive (6) while the work piece is moved back and forth.

  • Patent number: 9764405
Abstract: The invention relates to a nozzle (1) for cutting steel workpieces and workpieces made of iron alloys, comprising a nozzle body (2), wherein the nozzle body (2) has two cutting-oxygen bores (5, 5a), which extend from an inlet side (6) of the nozzle body (2) to an outlet side (8) of the nozzle body (2) in order to form two cutting jets (10, 10a). The double cutting flame cuts the steel more strongly in the so-called groove trail. The cut is thus more effective. This permits an increased cutting speed, which in turn causes a reduction in the heating-gas consumption.
