Abstract: A device for muffling the sound produced by a fluid in a duct, especially the sound produced in an intake pipe of a combustion engine, comprises a wall, whose inside defines a flow passage for the fluid. The device is at least partly tubular, i.e. it has two openings. At the outside of the wall (3) is arranged a plurality of chambers (4), each of which is connected to the flow passage via an aperture (7). The chambers (4) are bounded by the outside of the wall (3) as well as by bars (5, 6, 8) formed at the outside of the wall (3). The chambers (4) function in use as Helmholtz resonators. In addition, a device for the conduction of a fluid with the sound proofing device (1) described is presented.

  • Patent number: 5814269
Abstract: A parison transporting device includes a conveyor system moveable either in longitudinal or transverse fashion relative to the direction of parison discharge in the tube receiving position below the tube forming head to receive, on the conveyor system, either a straight tubular piece or a tubular piece curved in accordance with the mold cavity of the blow mold. The conveyor system is then moved to the blow mold and into a position where an end section of the conveyor belt is positioned vertically above an end section of the mold cavity with the tubular piece located thereon. A rotating conveyor belt carried by the conveyor system is moved above the mold cavity either in both horizontal directions (X-direction and Y-direction) to arrange the straight tubular piece into the curved mold cavity, or, in the alternative, linearly above the mold cavity to drop the tubular piece, already positioned in curved fashion on the conveyor belt, into the correspondingly formed mold cavity.

  • Patent number: 5695711
Abstract: The parison transporting device includes a straight mold trough formed by pins which are arranged relative to one another in V-shaped configuration when viewed in cross-section and which can be retracted into pneumatic cylinders to open the bottom of the mold trough. The parison transporting device is moved in the tube receiving position in straight fashion below the tube forming head of a blow molding machine to receive a tubular parison. The parison transporting device is subsequently moved to the blow mold. It is moved there over the mold cavity in such a manner that the tubular member inside the mold trough is positioned with successive sections above the mold cavity, the respectively aligning sections of the tubular piece being released by withdrawing pairs of pins and being dropped side by side into the mold cavity.

  • Patent number: 5464635
Abstract: To avoid any displacement of the heavy extruder with the blow head or of the heavy mold closing support with blow mold in three planes that are perpendicular to one another, which displacement has so far been necessary in the production of multiaxial hollow plastic articles, such as curved tubular pieces, the invention suggests the provision of a movable premold or intermediate mold which is matched to the shape of the mold cavity of the blow mold and includes a mold trough which is open at the blow head side, namely between the tube or blow head and the blowing station including a blow mold with a horizontal parting plane, the premold being at least displaceable in the tube receiving position below blow head in two directions (X and Y axes) which are horizontal relative to one another, and being adapted to be lifted and lowered (in the Z axis) and the bottom of said premold being movable over the cavity of a mold part for releasing the parison, e.g., in that the premold bottom consists of one or more doors.
