Publication number: 20090162344Abstract: In order to provide a method for culturing an immunopotentiator-containing organism having the experience of being eaten, inexpensively without requiring usage of a component derived from an animal, Acetobacter, Gluconobacter, Xanthomonas, Zymomonas or Enterobacter which is an edible gram-negative bacterium having an immunopotentiation function is cultured using a culture solution composed mainly of wheat or bean curd refuse. Thereby, Acetobacter can be obtained inexpensively and safely, and also a low molecular weight lipopolysaccharide which is the immunopotentiator can be obtained inexpensively and safely. Furthermore, no impurity derived from animal components is mixed.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 28, 2006Publication date: June 25, 2009Applicants: GEN-ICHIRO SOMA, BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH GROUP INC.Inventors: Gen-Ichiro Soma, Chie Kohchi, Hiroyuki Inagawa, Takashi Nishizawa

Patent number: 5494819Abstract: A pure culture of Pantoea agglomerans having all of the characteristics of FERM BP-3511 is disclosed. The characteristics include morphology, growth, physiological, carbon utilization sources and various enzymatic tests, as well as the required production of a lipopolysaccharide and all of these characteristics have been identified for the culture of P. agglomerans. In addition the lipopolysaccharide has a dominant molecular weight of 6,500.+-.2,500 as determined by SDS-PAGE method, 2.+-.phosphorus, 5.+-.hexosamines and 2.+-.1 2-keto-3-deoxyoctonate per molecular weight of 5,000. The specific enzymatic tests involve such enzymes as lysin decarboxylase, arginine dihydroxylase, phenylalanine deaminase and ornithine decarboxylase. Further, a test for utilization of malonate by the culture is disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 1994Date of Patent: February 27, 1996Assignees: Gen-Ichiro Soma, Den'Ichi MizunoInventors: Gen-Ichiro Soma, Kiyoshi Yoshimura, Daisuke Tsukioka, Den'Ichi Mizuno, Haruyuki Oshima
