  • Patent number: 7022257
Abstract: A floor coating composition containing one or more unsaturated urethane compounds, which is(are) obtained from an isocyanate compound(s) and a hydroxyl compound(s) as starting materials, wherein at least one of the isocyanate compound(s) and the hydroxyl compound(s) has an unsaturated bond(s), wherein the poly(alkyleneoxy) group content (as defined in the specification) is 2–16 wt % and the proportion of the number of the unsaturated bonds (as defined in the specification) is not less than 6, can form a coating film superior in staining resistance against extremely powerful staining substances and gloss retentivity against extremely great load from walking, and which permits easy polishing away of damages and color stain, as well as use of water as a solvent. When a coating object is covered with a film made from the composition, a coated material can be obtained, wherein warpage of a coating object (floor, floor material, plastic film and the like) and cracks in the film are suppressed.

Abstract: An ultraviolet irradiation apparatus for curing an ultraviolet curable coating agent applied to a substrate, by irradiating an ultraviolet light to the ultraviolet curable coating agent, which includes a low-pressure mercury lamp as a light source. According to the present invention, the problems associated with the use of an ultraviolet irradiation apparatus, whose light source is a high-pressure mercury lamp, can be solved, such as the need of a high voltage power source, degradation of quality, potential hazard to operators and the like. The present invention also provides a method of forming a cured coating film having the same properties as achieved by the use of a high-pressure mercury lamp, such as resistance to stain, adhesion to substrate and the like. This method requires a shorter time for curing of a unit area of the film as compared to the use of a high-pressure mercury lamp (100 V type).

  • Publication number: 20020142903
Abstract: The present invention provides a roller fixed coating tool including a grip and an application roller held by a frame extended from the grip, which tool has a support structure capable of non-rotatably supporting the application roller at two or more predetermined positions upon rotation of the application roller about the axis thereof, wherein coating is done while non-rotatably supporting the application roller at each of the two or more predetermined positions. According to the present invention, almost all the surface of the periphery of the application roller can be effectively used, and coating film forming with less air bubble entrainment can be continued for a relatively long period. In addition, since any typical application roller can be used for the coating tool of the present invention, the cost necessary for the entire coating work can be greatly reduced as compared to conventional coating work.

  • Patent number: 6040049
Abstract: A composite film for forming a resinous coating film on a surface of a to-be-coated material. The composite film has at least one water-soluble resinous coating film, at least one of which is formed on a surface of the composite film which is brought into contact with the surface of the to-be-coated material closely, and a base sheet to which the water-soluble resinous coating film adheres and transmits light therethrough. The water-soluble resinous coating film formed on the surface of the composite film which is brought into contact with the surface of the to-be-coated material closely is hardened in close contact with the to-be-coated material, with water interposed between the water-soluble resinous coating film and the to-be-coated material and adheres to the to-be-coated material to form a water-insoluble coating film. It is preferable that the application amount of the water is in a range of 1.5 g/m.sup.2 -10 g/m.sup.2.
