    Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition for preventing and alleviating or treating glaucoma and macular degeneration, containing a Centella asiatica extract. Particularly, the composition increases the glucose metabolism efficiency of cells so as to increase the survival rate of retinal neurons and pigment epithelial cells and protects cells from oxidative damage caused by A2E, thereby being effectively usable as a composition for eye health and for preventing and alleviating or treating glaucoma and macular degeneration.
