Abstract: A downwardly directed fixture is provided which has a fixture face, said face having a first and second annular recess, the first annular recess receiving a reflector flange and the second recess receiving a lens. The reflector flange is then held in position by a removable arc-shaped retention spring.

Abstract: A multiple position luminaire is described having a hinged lens frame and lens. The lens rotates about a hinge affixed to the luminaire housing, the lens frame being sealed against the luminaire housing with a double gasket seal, a first seal interposed between the lens frame and the housing and the second seal being a plurality of gasket fingers contacting an inner surface of the luminaire side wall.

Abstract: A luminaire system having an elongated throughway utilizing a thermal chimney effect. The thermal chimney effect within the throughway circulates air to remove heat generated from the electrical components of the system. Dissipating heat into the throughway from the electrical components can increase the life expectancy of the lamp and the output of the lamp. The electrical components of the system being entirely sealed and isolated from the throughway results in a permanent air, dust, and water tight seal. The permanent seal can minimize damage to the electrical components of the system as well as prevent the build up of moisture and dust within these sealed components.
Abstract: A current limiting system in accordance with the present invention comprises an accessory or canopy mount device that is permanently installed between a source of electrical power 1 and a track lighting system 2. The system may be installed integrally with a track lighting system to supply power to a plurality of lighting tracks from a plurality of power sources or circuits, as desired by a user or lighting designer. The system may also be configured to be compatible with a wide variety of track lighting system power tracks and is difficult to remove once properly installed, thereby making it tamper-proof.

Abstract: According to a one embodiment of the instant invention an adjustable downlight assembly comprises a collar, a yoke adjustable through an arcuate distance, the yoke pivotally connected to the collar, and a worm gear drive assembly operably engaging the yoke and the collar for pivoting the yolk about a horizontal axis. The worm gear drive assembly comprises a worm and a gear. The worm gear drive assembly is adjustable by rotation of the worm. The adjustable downlight assembly further comprises a biasing member fastened to a casting, the casting extending from an inner surface of the collar. The worm gear drive assembly inhibits unintentional movement of the yoke after adjustment is completed.
Abstract: The pendent style luminaire split design incorporates generally a housing split into sections, a first section of the housing is attached to the top member located at the mounting arm while the second section of the housing is attached to the lens frame. The second section swings about a hinge between the first section and the lens frame. In the open position of the luminaire, the design allows for the convenience of “hands free” maintenance of both the lamp and the electrical component assembly of the luminaire at the same time. A sealed optical chamber is created, since neither the lens nor lens frame is needed to be separated from the reflector to gain access to the lamp.
Abstract: An improved efficiency fluorescent lighting system is described. The system utilizes reduced rows of fluorescent luminaires which are spaced much further apart than traditional spacing. The luminaires used in the system of the present invention have increased light output of each luminaire by up to fifty percent through a combination of use of a high efficiency lamp producing about 3250 lumens, an electronic dimming ballast having a ballast factor of about 1.2 and a luminaire having a spacing to mounting height ratio of at least 1.5.
