  • Publication number: 20150101586
Abstract: An oven gasket is provided for improved sealing between the door and oven body of an oven appliance as the oven is heated. The oven gasket expands when heated so as to help improve sealing. The expansion of the gasket provides additional compression of the gasket and closes gaps that might otherwise form due to expansion of the oven door as the oven heats. The gasket can be effective even at high temperature oven operation such as e.g., during a cleaning cycle.

  • Patent number: 8689634
Abstract: Embodiments of the present application can provide systems and methods for mode shape identification of turbine buckets. According to one embodiment, a system can be provided. The system can include a turbine bucket having numerous trigger patterns disposed at a distal end of the turbine bucket. A sensor is disposed adjacent to the distal end of the turbine bucket for detecting the trigger patterns. The trigger patterns are patterned to identify at least one mode shape of the turbine bucket.

  • Patent number: 8215950
Abstract: A burner tube to provide combustible materials to a combustor is provided and includes an annular shroud and a center body, having a cavity defined therein, disposed within the annular shroud to form an annular passage, the annular passage being communicable with a combustion zone of the combustor at an aft portion thereof and including a fore portion in which fuel is injected into the annular passage. The center body includes a surface having a passage defined therein through which air is to be supplied to the annular passage from the cavity at a position, which is downstream from the fuel injection and upstream from the combustion zone. Also provided is a contouring of the centerbody.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus to enhance queries in an affinity domain are disclosed herein. An example method of providing a query service in an affinity domain includes receiving a query including one or more template identifiers that indicate conformance with a standard related to content of a document; generating an expression including the one or more template identifiers to define a search of a registry; performing the search of the registry according to the expression, wherein the search is configured to identify documents including the one or more template identifiers; and conveying the identified documents to an entity associated with the query.

  • Patent number: 7854583
Abstract: A compressor having a plurality of vane units each having at least one airfoil projecting from the base. Each base has a groove, so that when the vane units are disposed circumferentially adjacent, the grooves of the respective vane units are circumferentially aligned. A metal strip is disposed in the groove of a plurality of adjacent vane units to link the vane units forming a more rigid ring of vanes that are less susceptible to vane motion, e.g., caused by pressure fluctuations within the compressor of a gas turbine.

  • Patent number: 7477771
Abstract: A method for extracting information of a cardiac cycle from projection data is presented. The method provides for acquiring one or more sets of computed tomography (CT) projection data. Further, the method includes analyzing the one or sets of CT projection data to obtain a center of cardiac mass. Also, the method provides for estimating raw motion data representative of the motion of the center of cardiac mass from the one or more sets of CT projection data. In addition, the method includes processing the center of mass through time to extract a motion signal from the raw projection data. Also, the method provides for extracting the periodicity information from the motion signal.

  • Patent number: 7068715
Abstract: An ultra-wideband (UWB) communications system combines the techniques of a transmitted reference (TR) and a multiple access scheme called delay hopping (DH). Combining these two techniques using UWB signaling using a continuous noise transmitted waveform avoids the synchronization difficulties associated with conventional approaches. This TR technique is combined with the DH multiple access technique to create a UWB communications scheme that has a greater multiple access capacity than does the UWB TR technique by itself.

  • Publication number: 20030086785
Abstract: A turbine portion, for example a turbine blade, for exposure in a hot fluid flow includes at least one internal cooling passage disposed therein. A cooling fluid is introduced within the cooling passage(s) to maintain the bulk temperature of the turbine portion at some acceptable temperature level. A plurality of concavities are disposed on the interior surface of the cooling passage. In one embodiment, the concavities are formed on the interior surface of cooling passage in an array pattern such that a spiral bulk fluid motion is obtained, similar to that which would be formed by a helical rib, but without the rib. The concavity surface pattern serves to enhance heat transfer to the same degree as the conventional rib rougheners, but with significantly less pressure loss due to friction. The spiral motion of the bulk cooling fluid also serves to recirculate central coolant to the heat transfer surface, thereby making the heat exchange process more effective than that for turbulated surfaces.
