Abstract: A pressure gage particularly suitable in a variable temperature environment includes a body carrying two force rods. One of the force rods is coupled to the source of pressure to be measured while the second, of similar length and parallel to the first, is separated from the pressure to be measured. The total strain on both rods is affected by the same factors except that the rod coupled to the source of pressure is also affected by that source of pressure. When the strain of the two rods are subtracted the resultant strain is attributed only to the measured pressure.
Abstract: A thermocouple linearizer circuit for use in a device for digitally displaying the temperature of a thermocouple. The circuit includes a plurality of proportional correction means, each connected to receive a non-linear electrical signal representing the temperature of a thermocouple. The correction circuits generate a correction signal proportional to the difference between a non-linear electrical signal and a predetermined reference signal. The correction signals are initiated when the non-linear signal exceeds the respective reference signal in each correction circuit. An arithmetic unit is included for adding the correction signals and the non-linear signal thereby forming a signal corresponding to a linear function of the temperature of the thermocouple.
Abstract: A pressure gauge employing mechanical leverage to amplify movement of a push rod, together with a preformed laminated spring which further amplifies the mechanical motion by means of differential movement of the outer laminates thereof so as to swing one end of the spring about a wide arc.
