Abstract: A system (10) is disclosed for treating and consolidating with hardenable resins stone blocks (1) comprising at least one liquid- and gas-tight sheet (2) adapted to form a containing housing (3) of a block (1); at least one permeable layer to the resin arranged between the block (1) and the sheet (2) adapted to create a distance between the block (1) and the sheet (2) through which resin can flow; at least one closing manifold (20), comprising a central body (5) and a cover (6), such closing manifold (20) being equipped with connecting means adapted to connect the interior of the containing housing (3) to at least one pressure control duct, at least one duct (15) connected to a first vacuum pump (21), at least one air inserting duct (19) inside the containing housing (3) and sealingly passing means of at least one resin supplying duct (17) supplied by resin storing, conditioning and mixing means; and an autoclave (13). A process using the system is further disclosed.

Abstract: A process id disclosed for structurally repairing and aesthetically filling, and mutually coupling slabs (1) and layers (2–4) into a block (5), comprising the steps of: heating, drying and impregnating the slabs (1) with resin; penetrating the resin through atmospheric pressure; inserting positive pressures; applying a liquid- or gas-tight sealing coating (6, 7, 8) around the block (5) to allow resin to flow around and inside the block (5), containing hydrostatic resin pressures and checking resin consumptions through a formwork; directly supporting through the block (5) the thrusts generated by pressure differentials; when preparing the block (5), assembling the stone slabs (1) independently from mutual thickness and distance between centers with other stone slabs (1).

Abstract: A method is described for repairing and consolidating a natural stone block (1), with internal fractures and structural discontinuities, in which around the block (1) a coating (2, 3, 4) is applied that wraps the block (1) below and along a vertical perimeter thereof and is higher than the block (1); the coating (2, 3, 4) is spaced from the block (1) and forms the liquid- and gas-tight housing and allows the resin to flow against the block (1). The containment of hydrostatic resin pressures and the control of resin consumptions are performed by an external formwork composed of the coating (2, 3, 4) and of structures (5) to a platform (11) for supporting and transporting the block (1).

Abstract: The invention refers to a method for cutting blocks of stone (12), by means of a gangsaw (1) provided with diamond sector blades (35), comprising, besides a reciprocal approaching movement between the blades (35) and the block (12) and a periodical reciprocating movement of the blades (35), also a cyclic movement of approaching and moving away of the blades (35) relative to the block (12) and a hunting movement of the blade-holder frame.
