Abstract: An apparatus, computer-readable medium, and computer-implemented method for contextual data mining using a relational data set includes monitoring one or more data sources for information relating to the relational data set, the relational data set comprising one or more data objects in one or more classes, detecting activity corresponding to a first data object in the one or more data objects based at least in part on information gathered from at least one data source, determining whether the activity exceeds a predefined threshold, identifying a second data object in the one or more data objects which is connected to the first data object based at least in part on an analysis of relationships between the one or more data objects, and transmitting information relating to the second data object based at least in part on a determination that the activity exceeds the predefined threshold.

Abstract: A level of influence score is determined for at least one member of a group of persons based on biographical data corresponding to the at least one member of the group of persons. The level of influence scores for the group are aggregated to determine aggregate level of influence score. The aggregate level of influence score can be used to determine a composite level of influence for the group of persons. An influenced-group parameter may be utilized in conjunction with the biographical data corresponding to the at least one member of the group of persons to determine the level of influence score. A spatial scale parameter may also be utilized in conjunction with the biographical data corresponding to the at least one member of the group of persons to determine the level of influence score.

Abstract: A computer-based software tool for performing intelligent searches for geographic names data utilizing a fuzzy-logic search as well as linguistic principles and allowing the user to select various search criteria is disclosed. Geographic feature names can be searched for exact matches, similar geographic names based on misspellings or phonetic similarities, similar geographic names based on language dialects, historic place name variants, features with similar name Romanization, similar names with the type of feature, such as city, river, or mountain included in the name, in reversed or reading order, and similar names with inconsistent Unicode. With the aid of a displayed geographic map, the search can be localized.
