Abstract: A molding process and an apparatus wherein the molds produced in a molding machine are sent past a casting apapratus where casting takes place. Thereafter, the molds with the molding boxes surrounding them, pass through a primary cooling line, at the end of which molds and molding boxes are separated. The molding boxes are returned to the molding machine, while the sand molds with the castings pass through a secondary cooling zone for further cooling. The process allows for a substantially smaller number of molding boxes than previously known molding processes.
Abstract: Arranged in the upper region of a drum which rotates about an axis there is a dust box for dust removal. The box is connected with a line, which leads outwards, by way of a laterally arranged discharge channel. Arranged between the dust box and a baffle rotor which rotates about the axis are baffle areas which form labyrinth-like passages for the dust to the dust suction openings in the dust box.
Abstract: A gaseous medium, preferably compressed air or nitrogen, is introduced into the interior of the tubular components to be welded together from one end and is discharged at the other end through a throttled outlet opening. As a result, an excess pressure is built up in the interior of the tubular components and the inner wall of the components is cooled. When heating the abutting ends of the tubular components by means of a heating device, the ends are not melted entirely through to the inner walls, so that the formation of an inner welding bead is avoided and the internal pressure creates a welding pressure.
