Abstract: A device for producing bubbles is disclosed including a housing having an entry port and an exit port, where a chamber is defined therein in flow communication with the entry and exit ports. A drive shaft is located within the housing chamber with a turbine wheel mounted to the drive shaft in a rotatable manner. The turbine wheel includes a plurality of pin members extending therefrom and a crank arm is provided for rotating the turbine wheel. Accordingly, water and bubble solution entering the housing chamber through the entry port is mixed with air to produce bubbles in the housing chamber which are encouraged to flow through the exit port. The entry port is oriented substantially perpendicular to the rotation of the turbine wheel and the exit port is oriented substantially in line with the rotation of the turbine wheel.

Abstract: A security gate for positioning within an area way such as a doorway. The gate includes a support structure defined by a frame and a flexible panel supported by the frame. The frame includes horizontal members and vertical members detachable engaged with the horizontal members. One end of the horizontal members includes a lock assembly including a pivoting linkage defining a parallelogram structure for facilitating firm engagement of the horizontal members with opposing sides of the doorway.

Abstract: A child's booster seat for use in a vehicle having a vehicle seat and a vehicle passenger restraint system, .The booster seat includes a base and a shield attached to an upper end of the base. A lap belt for the passenger restraint system is used to maintain the shield in position on the base and also to form a direct restraint on a child in the seat. A shoulder belt adjustment strap is also provided for positioning a shoulder belt of the passenger restraint system downwardly away from a child's head and neck area when the base is used without the shield in place. The adjustment strap may be positioned to extend upwardly along either side of the booster seat to facilitate use of the booster seat with passenger restraint systems on either a right or left side of a vehicle.

Abstract: Combination bathtub and infant-supporting insert are provided with interengagable members for firmly holding the insert in any of multiple inclined positions, enabling support of an infant on its back from a near horizontal position shortly after birth to a near-upright position at the stage that it is almost ready to outgrow the tub. The tub and insert are each preferably injection molded as a single piece from an appropriate plastic material. The infant-supporting surface is smoothly contoured to properly support the back, head and bottom of the infant in all angles of inclination, regardless of the infant's size.

Abstract: A bath ring is provided including a base portion, a ring portion having a back portion for supporting the back of a person seated on the base portion, an attachment member connecting the ring portion to the base portion, and a restraining member extending upwardly from a front edge of the base portion. The restraining member has a first portion pivotable about the base portion, and a second portion having a pair of distal ends. A lock mechanism associated with the first and second portions of the restraining member is adapted to engage with and disengage from a pair of slots located in an inwardly facing surface of the ring portion. The lock mechanism includes a first element with a pair of oppositely extending arm members and a central member from which each arm member extends, wherein the central member is compressible so that the arm members may be brought closer together, and a second element extending along the first portion of the retaining member.

Abstract: The present invention provides an infant carrier having a bouncer mode of operation in which the bouncer mechanism is designed such that a harmonic vibration will be established regardless of varying weights of infants placed within the carrier. In addition, the infant carrier includes a mechanism for locking a carrying handle in one of two positions including cooperating camming surfaces formed on detent members of the handle and recess portions of the sides of the infant carrier.

Abstract: A high chair including a frame and a seat shell supported by the frame, the seat shell including a seat portion and a back portion. The seat shell is movable in a vertical direction relative to the frame. First guide members are mounted to a lower portion of the seat shell for engagement with side members of the frame to guide the lower portion of the seat shell, and second guide members are provided adjacent to the back portion of the seat shell for guiding an upper portion of the seat shell. A latch is associated with the second guide member whereby the seat shell may be locked in one of a plurality of predetermined positions.

Abstract: A wireless audio monitoring system includes a reassurance tone generator for providing the user with assurance that a receiving unit is within range of the monitoring unit's transmitter and that both are operating properly. The reassurance signal is a brief audible tone transmitted at regular intervals by the monitoring unit to the receiving unit. The reassurance tone is either injected as sound into the monitoring unit's microphone, as an electronic signal into the microphone's amplifier or directly into the transmitter. A typical reassurance tone is a quarter-second long audible tone that occurs every ten seconds. At the receiving unit, the user has the option of either hearing or not hearing the reassurance tone by either eliminating the tone itself or by muting the loudspeaker during the time the reassurance tone is being received. Alternatively, the reassurance tone is turned on or off at the monitoring unit by means of a radio control signal sent from the receiving unit.

Abstract: A security gate apparatus for attachment across an opening defined by first and second vertical surfaces, including a first gate panel and a second gate panel slidingly connected to the first gate panel so as to permit horizontal extension and retraction of the gate apparatus to a desired horizontal dimension. A first vertical leg is pivotably attached to an outer vertical member of the first gate panel by a first link means and a second vertical leg is pivotably connected to an outer vertical member of the second gate panel by a second link means. The security gate apparatus also includes means for locking the first and second gate panels in the desired horizontal dimension and at least one contact pad on a surface of the first and second vertical legs opposite the outer vertical members of the first and second gate panels, respectively.

Abstract: A swing assembly is provided in which low profile side members are used to support a seat member for gliding back and forth movement. The seat member may be rotated between sitting and inclined positions and includes a movable T-bar which is adapted to be pivoted forwardly in order to facilitate movement of an infant into and out of the seat.
