Abstract: A thermally-controlled valve for a steam trap and the like, includes a thermally-controlled element including generally plate-like outer and inner wall portions and a generally plate-like, resilient membrane member disposed between and welded at its outer edges to the wall portions. The outer wall portion and the membrane define therebetween a chamber for accommodating an expanding medium and a reciprocably movable locking member is disposed generally between the membrane member and the inner wall portion, and is disposed for cooperative engagement with the valve seat of the steam trap. The membrane member is coupled to the locking member to effect movement of the locking member relative to the valve seat, and is comprised of a plurality of superimposed membrane lamellae, which permits proper functioning of the valve under high operating pressures.
Abstract: A throttle valve formed from two jackets each having through bores. Each jacket includes two groups of bores, one group of bores being equally spaced from each other and the other group of bores having an intermediate bore unequally spaced from the outer end bores. The jackets are rotatable relatively to each other so as to align the bores for maximum and minimum flow.
Abstract: A thermally controlled steam trap valve with a housing having an internal chamber which is connected to the inlet and also including an outlet. There is a valve seat disposed in the housing for covering the outlet and a valve shaft which has a spherically shaped valve member mounted on the shaft for closing off the valve seat in response to a bimetallic element. Guide pin elements in the form of bushings are disposed in the housing at opposite ends of the shaft and have diametrical clearances which are coordinates with the axial spaces between the center point of the spherical valve member and the points of contact with the shaft with the guide bushings. In another embodiment the valve seat has a yoke with ribs extending over the bimetallic element. The valve member has radial guide shoulders which include openings for the discharge which cooperate with the inner wall of one of the bushings.
Abstract: A float controllable valve responsive to the level of condensate having a housing with an internal chamber including an input supply opening and a discharge opening. There is a membrane capsule disposed in the interior of the housing and formed with at least a first throttle inlet bore communicative to the interior of the membrane capsule with the internal chamber of said housing at a pressure side. The membrane capsule includes a rigid inlet nozzle extending into the interior of the membrane capsule and has a nozzle bore communicating with the discharge channel. The inlet nozzle has a valve seat in the interior of the membrane capsule between the throttle bore and the nozzle bore. A locking member is slidably disposed and extends into the interior of the membrane capsule and has one end in sealing contact with the valve seat.
Abstract: A steam trap comprising a housing forming a low pressure chamber and an it opening and an outlet opening and a valve seat formed at the inlet opening. A thermal control device filled with an expansion medium is disposed in the low pressure chamber, and includes a locking part for the valve seat actuated by the thermic control device. A separating wall divides the low pressure chamber into two chambers, one of which is connected to the inlet opening and containing the control means, the other of which is connected with the outlet opening. The separating wall has a porthole positioned on another side of the control device with respect to the outlet opening in radial and/or axial direction relative thereto.
Abstract: A throttle valve having a valve seat element with a coaxial jacket which a plurality of flow-through channels positioned at different planes, and a piston-like locking member is stroke displaceably disposed within the jacket and having a sealing face at its front surface which cooperates with a first valve seat. The jacket is surrounded by a second stroke displaceably disposed locking element having a sealing face at its front surface opposite to the valve seat element, which cooperates with a second valve seat, mounted on the valve seat body, both locking elements being connected with each other for stroke movement.
