Abstract: A moisture release valve for an outdoor light including a valve body having a stem received in a valve guide and having a head seating with a valve seat integrally formed of part of a sidewall of a light casing of the light fixture. Valve body is gravity displaced between a closed position and an open position depending upon light fixture orientation and can include a counterweight carried by its stem interiorly disposed within the fixture helping to cause displacement of the valve body toward the desired open or closed position in response to a change in light fixture orientation. Valve body can be a rivet, such as a split rivet, and the counterweight can be a washer, such as an annular washer, having an opening generally in registry with the valve guide permitting fluid within the fixture to drain from the fixture when the valve is open.

Abstract: An animal toy having pendulum action is disclosed. The toy includes a movable pendulum swingably secured within a housing. The pendulum is capable of carrying toys, and each toy is accessible through one or more access openings in the housing.

Abstract: A cat scratching post that includes a plurality of supports between which an outer covering is disposed. The supports are coupled with at least one joint that can comprise a spline that can be ribbed and that can form part of an end cap. In another preferred embodiment, the supports engage each other and form a post assembly that can be hollow. One preferred joint comprises a tongue and groove coupling. One preferred coupling includes a snap received in a receiver. One preferred post assembly is formed of a pair of supports of substantially identical construction. Each support preferably comprises a spar formed from a common extrusion producing spars of substantially identical cross-section. In assembly, one of the spars is reversed relative to the other so they mirror one another before being engaged to one another using a plurality of spaced apart joints integrally formed of the spars.

The holder preferably includes flanges disposed on each side of the scoop to help keep it in the pocket and constrain lateral scoop movement. One wall preferably is inclined such that it forms an acute included angle with the other wall such that a pocket of vee-shaped cross section having its apex adjacent the base is formed. This pocket construction helps keep the scoop upright. The holder can include a hinged lid that can function as a retaining wall.
