Abstract: The invention relates to a method for subsequently implementing a SIM functionality, with the help of which a mobile telephone (1) is enabled to use a mobile radio network, in a security module (3). Within the context of the method according to the invention the SIM functionality is realized in the form of an application, of which at least a first part is loaded into the security module (3). Furthermore, personalizing data, which are required for a use of the mobile radio network by the mobile telephone (1), are transmitted from a provider (2) to the security module (3) in encrypted form on the direct or indirect way. The encrypted personalizing data are decrypted by the security module (3) by means of a secret key of a user stored in the security module (3). The security module (3) is personalized by means of the decrypted personalizing data.
Abstract: A method for protecting an operation sequence executed by a portable data carrier from spying out, wherein the data carrier has at least a processor core, a main memory and a cache memory with a plurality of cache lines. The processor core is able to access, upon executing the operation sequence, at least two data values, with the data values occupying at least one cache line in the cache memory and being respectively divided into several portions so that the occurrence of a cache miss or a cache hit is independent of which data value is accessed. A computer program product and a device have corresponding features. The invention serves to thwart attacks based on an evaluation of the cache accesses during the execution of the operation sequence.

Abstract: The ODA database (4) contains SIM card (1) information related to the cards that shall be activated. When a SIM card (1) is inserted into a mobile equipment, such as a mobile telephone, and the mobile equipment is switched on, the ODA (2) is connected to the SIM card for updating the SIM card with a card definition file. Abstract: In a method for generating program code in a load format for a portable data carrier, a pseudo library is used, which differs from the library located on the data carrier in such a way that at least some of the internal workings of the library located on the data carrier are absent or hidden or masked in the pseudo library. In a method for providing executable program code in the portable data carrier, the program code in load format is linked relative to the library located on the data carrier. A device and a computer program product have corresponding features. The invention provides secure, privacy-safeguarding technology, which allows the generation of program code in a load format for a portable data carrier and the provision of executable program code in the portable data carrier.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for carrying out an application with the help of a portable data carrier (1). With the method according to the invention via a first data channel (5) of the portable data carrier (1) a data connection with a first external device (2) is formed. Abstract: A method for producing a portable card-shaped data carrier with a high embossing. The method comprises the steps of supplying a planar circuit carrier, integrating the circuit carrier in a card-shaped data carrier body of the data carrier and high embossing the data carrier body. At least one surface area of the circuit carrier and at least one through opening is produced and the data carrier body is high embossed in an embossing area overlapping with the at least one surface area of the circuit carrier. Abstract: A security element has a housing assembled from two housing members, and an IC card placed between the two housing members. The IC card is a detachable part of a larger base card within which it is disposed in a recess and to which it is connected via bars provided with a rated breaking point.
