  • Patent number: 10525763
Abstract: The flat foil printing press comprises an evacuable back-pressure plate (9), with suction regions (15k) which run in the sheet running direction (X) and which are next to embossing regions (16k), in which foil webs (6k) run. The suction regions are subdivided into several suction segments (10i) which are successive in the sheet running direction, and are each connected to a vacuum source (14) by way of a vacuum feed line (12i) via a vacuum switching element (13i). With the running-out of an embossed sheet (5), firstly all suction segments (10i) covered by the sheet are evacuated, and subsequently the suction segments which are no longer covered by the sheet are successively disconnected from the vacuum source. This results in an error-free separation of foil webs and sheets, for a greater picture quality and machine output.

  • Patent number: 7424903
Abstract: A foil web installation for a flat bed embossing machine with foil webs (6), which are conducted across an embossing table (3) from unwinding rolls (7) comprises a braking—and guiding wall (10) ahead of the embossing table and foil feeding devices (9) for several foil webs after the embossing table. Between the unwinding rolls (7) and the embossing table (3) at least one flat braking—and guiding wall (10) acts as a foil tensioning device. This latter element comprises a fixed supporting layer (11) as supporting surface with suction openings (14), a cloth-like contacting layer permeable to air (12) lying on top of it and a flat vacuum chamber (17) with an adjustable vacuum source (13) assigned to it, wherein foil webs (6) are pressed against the braking—and guiding wall (10) and braked as a result of this. This makes possible a foil web installation simple to adjust, easy on the foil web for achieving high embossing performances with the best quality as well as short retooling times.

  • Patent number: 5746122
Abstract: The embossing or blocking and punching machine with a machine control (2) has several pressure sensors (S1 to S4) for measuring compressive forces X arranged around the center Z of the blocking surface F. A positioning device (10) with a displacement drive (20) and associated motor control (21) is connected to a pressure control program (30) with compressive force control functions (REG), with which is associated a control and display unit (40). Thus, a precise, automatic constant control of the optimum operating pressure (XA) can take place and a constant, maximum embossing or printing quality is achieved.

  • Patent number: 5718057
Abstract: A register draw-in device for sheet printing and embossing machines has two front or leading edge stops and a side stop, and position sensors (S1, S2, S3) for detecting print marks (P1, P2, P3) of a sheet (5). Two detectors (D1, D2) associated with the front stops (A1, A2) detect the sheet leading edge. The front stops are adjustable by control elements (M1, M2) until front print marks (P1, P2) on the sheet are detected by sensors (S1, S2). A control element (M3) then adjusts the side stop (A3) until a side print mark (P3) is detected by another sensor (S3). A system control (11) controls this register correction with the position sensors (S1, S2, S3), the detectors (D1, D2) and the control elements (M1, M2, M3). This accomplishes reliable automatic register correction for each individual sheet and therefore maximum print quality.

  • Patent number: 4852382
Abstract: The die stamping and punching tool has a press upper part (18) and a tool plate (16) and a press lower part (13) with a stamping or pressing table (14) and counterpressure plate (15), the lower part being carried by toggle levers (11, 11') which are moved by a cam mechanism. The controlled rollable stamping or pressing table (14) with the counterpressure plate (15) and rolling profile has a device for controlling the stamping table movement comprising toggle levers (11, 11') and cam disks (12, 12') driving the same, the cam disks (12, 12') having a shape (A,B) related to the rolling profile. The stamping table can be guided by a further cam disk (29). This controllable stamping table guide preferably comprises a table guide lever (28) pivotable about a fulcrum. One end carries a slider (27) sliding in the stamping table and the other end is driven by the cam disk (29), which also has a shape (C,C') related to the rolling profile.

  • Patent number: 4130050
Abstract: A machine for producing cardboard plates or the like comprises punching apparatus for punching or cutting off pieces of sheet material and delivering them edgewise under gravity to be received alternately by two containers. One container is open at each end, the second is permanently closed at one end. The first container is fixed to an oscillating unit and the second is pivoted thereto. When swinging in one direction the unit carries the first container to a position for receiving a piece from the punching apparatus and the second container to a vertical guiding element leading to one pair of dies on a twin press. In the reverse movement, the oscillating unit carries the first container to a position for feeding its piece through its opposite end to a second vertical guiding element leading to the second pair of dies in the press. In this movement, a link swings the second container about its axis on the oscillating unit to present the open end of the container to the punching apparatus.
