Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for adhering a synthetic resin gasket to a filtering element of an air filter. The apparatus incorporates a mold having a synthetic resin forming gasket cavity therein in which the synthetic resin gasket is formed. The cavity has an injection recess portion and an expansion recess portion. The two portions are separated by a movable mold element which may be positioned to substantially separate or substantially adjoin the injection recess and expansion recess portions. When the movable mold element is in the separation position, synthetic resin may be introduced into the injection recess position without contacting the filtering element. When the movable mold element is in the adjoining position, the resin may expand into the expansion recess until the resin contacts and adheres to the filter element. An automated version of this apparatus is also disclosed.

Abstract: A vehicle rearview mirror comprising a cup-shaped body, the front edge of which defines a square frame housing a reflecting plate; and a cylindrical arm extending from the body and one end of which is fitted to the vehicle door. At one corner of the frame, the body presents a flat beveled portion inclined 45.degree. in relation to the adjacent sides of the frame, and mating with a flat end wall of the arm. The body is adjustable in relation to the arm between a first stable connecting position and a second stable connecting position wherein the body is turned over and rotated 180.degree. in relation to the arm, so that the mirror functions as a right- or left-hand rearview mirror, depending on whether the body is set to the first or second position.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing an air filter consists of building in two stages around a paper filtering element previously prepared, an edge made of flexible foam, first injecting resin into a separate space from the filtering element, and then letting it expand until it anchors to it.An apparatus to carry out such method consists of a die in which the filtering element is inserted, around which a channel is formed where a mobile frame is sinked, whose shape corresponds to the filtering element one, in such a way as to define an injection recess separated from the filtering element, and an expansion recess adjacent to the filtering element, connected by the mobile frame lift, so that the resin can expand and anchor to the filtering element.

Abstract: A filter comprises a case for a fuel filter element and a cover that can be built according to two embodiments: one with holes for allowing the screwing of the filter onto a threaded base; and one with elbow-ducts projecting from the cover and integrally formed therewith. Both the cover and the case are of plastic material. The fastening of the cover to the case is obtained by means of a helical screw connection and a locking means, the locking means consisting of oblique teeth both in the case and in the cover acting as a ratchet gear arrangement for preventing unscrewing of the cover. A settlement chamber is formed at the bottom of the case having radial projections reinforcing the structure thereof.

Abstract: A rear view mirror unit for a commercial vehicle, comprising a mirror, a support element to which this mirror is fixed, pivot means for connecting the support element in such a manner as to project from at least one region of the vehicle body defining at least one preferential angular position of the support element itself with respect to the body, and a cable slidably engaging a bushing fixed to the support element and connected to a coil spring with its front end, the free ends of the cable and the spring are connected to respective brackets fixed to the body to the sides of the said pivot means.

Abstract: An oil filter for providing coarse and fine filtration of lubricating oil in an internal combustion engine is disclosed herein. The oil filter includes a cylindrical housing closed by a cover containing a coarse-filtering cartridge of pleated paper included between a lower plate and an upper plate, and a fine-filtering cartridge placed between the coarse-filtering cartridge and the cover. The fine-filtering cartridge is supported between a lower base plate and an upper base plate arranged to bear against the cover. Both filtering cartridges have a cylindrical shape with axial recesses extending therethrough. The fine-filtering cartridge is composed of a band of filtering paper disks, the band being bent as an accordion. The upper base plate is integrally formed with to a first end of a barrel with the barrel coaxially extending through the axial recess of said fine-filtering cartridge and partially into the axial recess of said coarse-filtering cartridge.

Abstract: A rearview mirror assembly for an industrial vehicle comprising a C-shaped supporting element, a mirror attached to this supporting element, hinging means for attaching the supporting element in a projecting position to the body of the vehicle defining at least one preferential angular position of the supporting element, and a telescopic rod connected to a lower arm of the supporting element and to a bracket fixed to the vehicle body, so as to reduce the vibrations during use of the supporting element and equipped with elastic means exerting a return force on the arm.

Abstract: A sun roof for vehicles, comprising a main part slidable beneath the roof panel to open or close an aperture, and a front part tiltable upwardly to impede direct entry of air into the front zone of this aperture. The front part is disposed in the closure position substantially at the same height as the main part. A single control cable at a lateral side of the sun roof actuates a slidable control body which engages the front part through a slidable auxiliary body. The control body is connected to the main part through a lost motion connection to allow the main part to remain stationary while the front part is being tilted.

Abstract: A supercharger for supplying a heat engine of a motor vehicle includes a main body having a working chamber in which rotate at least two bodies continuously sealed along at least one generatrix parallel to the axis of the main body and in which said chamber is in communication with an intake duct and an outlet duct. The main characteristic of this supercharger lies in the fact that it comprises constituent parts made with a relatively rigid supporting structure having an external form provided by moulding material onto the supporting structure.

Abstract: A lightweight wheel for land vehicles, particularly bicycles and motorized cycles, which provides sufficient durability for use on rough terrain. The wheel includes a central hub, a peripheral rim which retains a tire, and a plurality of extensions which extend between the hub and rim. The wheel is constructed substantially from a single sheet of material pressed and cut to form the elements of the wheel.

Abstract: A seat for vehicles is described. The seat comprises a support structure for a cushion and a support structure for a seat back, as well as a respective stuffing part supported at least partially by the said structure. The main feature of this seat is that the said support structure has a cross-section having a profile such as to allow an engagement of at least partially mating surfaces, one of which pertains to the structure and the other to at least one component of the seat.

Abstract: A container for air filters adapted to selectively house one or the other of at least two different primary filter elements having different diameters and different lengths, the container having a cylindrical body closed at one end by a fixed cap and closed at its opposite end by a removable cap, an air inlet in the container body and a centrally disposed air outlet in the fixed cap, the fixed cap being provided with a plurality of concentric annular sealing surfaces surrounding the air outlet, each such surface forming a seat for a different size primary filter element, centering means being provided to center each different primary filter element in the container, together with adjustable means for securing each different primary filter element in the container with its end in sealing contact with the corresponding sealing surface, provision being made for a secondary filter element.

Abstract: A diaphragm pump for feeding fuel to internal combustion engines is described. The pump comprises one inlet duct for fuel from a tank provided with an outlet duct, and an outlet duct for the fuel from the pump, and comprises a suction valve and a discharge valve operated by the diaphragm to transfer the fuel from the inlet duct to the outlet duct. The main feature of the pump is to comprise a shut-off valve completely separate from the suction and discharge valves and disposed in the path of the fuel between the inlet duct and outlet duct, said shut-off valve being open during normal operation of the pump, and closing to block the passage of the fuel when the motor vehicle on which the pump is mounted overturn.

Abstract: A six-way deviator valve for liquids, of the type comprising two three-way valves in the same housing separated by a dividing baffle, each of the three-way valves possessing one permanently open nozzle for connection to a main pipe, and two internally closable nozzles for connection to secondary pipes, the two closable nozzles being closed by a suitable obturator element, is described. Each of the two obturator elements comprises faces mounted on support elements and arranged to rest on corresponding seats formed on the internal extremities of the two closable nozzles, the obturator element also being rotatable about a fixed axis of rotation and rotated by a rotating drive spindle located inside said housing, the drive spindle being rotated by external means by way of linkages.
