Abstract: A system for data sharing between a first user and a second user includes a memory and a processor. The processor is configured to execute instructions stored in the memory to associate a unique identifier with a first profile of the first user, the first profile includes user data; obtain, from a second device of the second user, a sensed identifier; and, in response to the sensed identifier matching the unique identifier of the first user, execute instruction to send, to the first user, a first request to share first user data of the first user with the second user; and receive, from the first user, a response to the first request to share the first user data of the first user with the second user. The sensed identifier is captured by a sensor of the second device.

Abstract: Data sharing between a first user and a second user includes receiving a scan code from the first user; associating the scan code with a first profile of the first user; receiving, from a second user, an indication that the second user scanned the scan code; identifying, for the first user, the second user as a potential contact; sending, to the first user, a first request to share first user data with the second user; and receiving, from the first user, a response to the first request to share the first user data with the second user. Managing a directory of contacts includes creating the directory of contacts; receiving an event-based joining tag for the directory; adding a contact; and responsive to an event-based joining tag being active, adding the contact to the directory of contacts.

Abstract: A method for data sharing includes receiving, from a potential contact, a first location. The method also includes, in a case that a second location of a user device of a user matching the first location, identifying, for the user, the potential contact; receiving, from the user device, a request for the user to become a contact with the potential contact, the request includes a permission setting, the permission indicates whether a subset of user data of the user can be viewed by the potential contact; sending, based on the request, a communication to the potential contact to initiate a data exchange; and, in response to receiving an acceptance of the communication: setting the user as a contact of the potential contact, the subset of the user data is viewable to the potential contact in accordance with the permission; and setting the potential contact as a contact of the user.

Abstract: Systems and methods for creating and joining directories of contacts are provided. A method includes receiving, from a first user device associated with a first user, a first request to create the private directory of contacts, the first request including a directory joining criterion; creating the private directory of contacts; receiving, from a second user device associated with a second user, a second request to join the private directory of contacts; in response to determining that the second user meets the directory joining criterion, adding the second user to the private directory of contacts; and in response to determining that the second user does not meet the directory joining criterion, adding an incoming request, indicative of the second request, to a list of incoming requests of the first user.

Abstract: Systems and methods for creating and joining directories of contacts are provided. Abstract: Data sharing between devices in a network is described. User data associated with a user device is identified, and a location of the user device is determined. A potential contact device located within a proximity range relative to the location of the user device is identified. Communications are sent between the user device and the potential contact device to initiate data sharing. In response to the communications, data is exchanged between the user device and the potential contact device by sending the user data to the potential contact device, and sending contact data associated with the potential contact device to the user device to modify contact information stored in association with the user device. The data sharing can also initiate a chat session and/or generate a display.
