Publication number: 20240300985Abstract: The present invention relates to a new class of polyaminomethylene phosphonate derivatives with low phosphorous content and to processes for the preparation thereof. The compounds of the invention are useful for the preparation of additives that prevent the segregation of solids from water and aqueous solutions or dispersions acting as sequestering agents, precipitations inhibitors, dispersants and anti-scale agents in different industrial fields. The compounds object of this invention are prepared by reacting diethylenetriamine with an epoxide, preferably ethylene oxide, followed by phosphonomethylation of the functionalized polyamines obtained in the previous step by reaction with an aqueous solution of phosphorous acid and formaldehyde in the presence of an acid.
