The control mechanism is situated transversely to the flow of gas. The control mechanism also includes features to insure a minimal flow of gas and a maximum flow of gas as selectable by a potentiometer.

Abstract: A portable tankless water heater includes a heat exchanger disposed in a sealed housing with an inlet cold water line and an outlet hot water line extending outside the sealed housing. A burner, disposed in an operative relationship with said heat exchanger is provided for heating water flowing through said heat exchanger and an exhaust system induces draft of air from a housing air inlet through said heat exchanger and out of a housing flue outlet.

Abstract: A slide-lateral arm box awning system for motor homes and recreational vehicles having an extendable coach slider includes a encasement, a slider awning and a lateral arm awning. First and second roll bars are disposed within the encasement and attached respectively to the slider awning and the lateral arm awning within the encasement. Independent of operation of the roll bars enables independent operation of the slider awning and the lateral bar awning.

Abstract: A vehicle awning system includes a plurality of arm supports disposable in a spaced apart relationship on a vehicle roof with each support having a cantilevered portion disposable in a spaced apart relationship with the vehicle roof. A roller is disposed between the cantilevered portion and the vehicle roof and a fabric having a topside and a bottom side is wound on the roller and extendable therefrom with a lead rail. A plurality of articulated arms interconnect a corresponding arm support with the lead rail and are disposed over the fabric topside for tensioning the fabric between the roller and the lead rail.

Abstract: A breakaway awning includes an awning moveable between an open position and a closed position and having a lead rail attached to a leading edge of the awning. A pair of tracks mountable on opposite sides of a window are provided with longitudinal slots therein. Track guides are slidably disposed within a corresponding slot and awning guides are fixed to opposite ends of the lead rail. Track guide fittings and awning guide fittings engagable with one another enable both longitudinal movement of the lead rail along the tracks and transverse separation of the lead rail and awning guides from the track guides and track upon the application of force thereto thus facilitating egress from the underline window.

Abstract: An AC power system for recreational vehicle includes an input circuit for receiving alternating current and at least one output circuit providing alternating current to devices. A park brake circuit is provided for producing a vehicle brake signal, deactivation signal, and an ignition circuit provides a vehicle engine ignition signal. An interlock provides for disabling the output circuit in response to at least one of the brake signal and ignition signals.

Abstract: A window awning mounting system suitable for a non-planar surface includes a housing containing a roll of awning. A forearm is provided and includes a header at one end thereof attached to a leading edge of the roll up awning. A bracket mounted on the non-planar surface is provided for securing and stabilizing one end of the forearm. A spring loaded tension arm having one end attached to the forearm is provided and an arm bracket, which is separate from the housing bracket, pivotally attaches both a second end of the forearm and a second end of the tension arm.

Abstract: An awning mechanism for a recreational vehicle having a slider includes a box awning having a frame and a roller disposed therein with an awning rolled about the roller and extendable therefrom. The awning includes a leading edge and a bracket is provided for mounting the frame to a stationary wall of the recreational vehicle. A header attachable to the slider beneath the frame is provided with the bracket and the header having a generally coplanar relationship with the slide out in a fully retracted position. Linkage is provided which interconnects the header and the leading edge and includes structure enabling shortening of the linkage as the header passes beneath the leading edge on the roller.

Abstract: A load detection system for lateral and vertical arm awnings generally includes a motorized roller with a fabric wound thereabout in a retracted position and extendable therefrom. Arms are provided for supporting the fabric in an extended position and at least one sensor is utilized for sensing strain due to extended awning loading and producing a load signal corresponding thereto. A controller is incorporated and responsive to the load signal for causing the motorized roller to retract and extend the fabric.

Abstract: A roller awning system is provided for a recreational vehicle having a slider. The system includes a housing for mounting on an outside wall of a recreational vehicle above the slider and a roll of awning is rotatably disposed within the housing and deployable from the topside of the roll in order to establish a pitch between the topside and an extended edge of the slider. This pitch promotes a moisture and debris runoff. A cover is attached to the housing for enclosing the awning roll with the slider in a retracted position and swingable for enabling deployment of the awing as the slider is extended. A wiper is provided and disposed on the leading edge of the cover for sweeping debris from the awning when the awning is rolled during retraction of the slider.

Abstract: An awning slide system for a recessed cavity is provided which includes a tray for supporting an awning mechanism with the tray being sized for containment within the cavity which includes an open side for enabling an awning to be retractably extended therefrom. A slide is provided for interconnecting the tray and a cavity surface in order to temporarily expose the awning mechanism outside the recess cavity for providing maintenance access thereto without inhibiting the mechanism from extending from the awing.

Hardware is provided for interconnecting the tray and a cavity surface in order to temporarily expose the awning mechanism outside the recess cavity for providing maintenance access thereto without inhibiting the mechanism from extending from the awing.

Abstract: An automatic lateral arm awning system for a recreational vehicle includes awning material having a first and a second end, a roller secured to the material first end for wrapping said awning material thereabout and a header secured to the material second end. A frame is provided for enclosing the roller and awning material and sealing with the header in order to prevent wind-generated noise upon driving of the recreational vehicle. A pair of spring loaded arms interconnecting the frame and said header for urge the header away from the frame upon rotation of the roller in one direction and an electric motor, disposed within the roller, rotates the roller. The awning material unrolls from the roller and extends outwardly from the frame upon rotation of the roller in the one direction and wraps around said roller upon rotation of the roller in an opposite direction. Awning material stretch is accommodated in order to insure sealing between said header and said frame.

Abstract: The window awning assembly includes an awning and an elongate roller tube for receiving the awning with the awning being rotatably disposed around the roller tube. An elongate awning case is provided which encloses the roller tube and awning, with the roller tube being mounted for rotation within the case. The case includes a main section which is adapted for mounting to a surface and a movable lead rail. The main section and the lead rail engage one another to totally enclose the roller tube and awning when the awning is rolled onto the roller tube. At least two spaced apart support arms are attached between the lead rail and a mounting surface and a coupling system is provided for enabling the support arms to be attached to the lead rail at various positions along the lead rail in order that the lead rail and awning can extend beyond the spacing of the support arms.
