Abstract: A chair (1), in particular a swivel office chair, is provided with a bottom chair part (2) having a column (3), a seat support (4) held on the bottom chair part (2), a seat (6) connected pivotably to the support, and a backrest support (5) holding a backrest (7) and connected pivotably to the seat support (4). The movement of the seat (6) is coupled with the movement of the backrest support (5) by a synchronizing mechanism having at least one spring (10) and coupling elements. The synchronizing mechanism is arranged essentially within the column (3).

Abstract: The invention concerns a seat (1) with a seat support (2) which has a seating surface (3) as well as a backrest (4) connected pivotable with it, which seating surface (3) and backrest (4) are mounted adjustably and fixably on a seat bracket (7) for adjusting the position of the seat support (2). For the seat (1) of the invention, it is characteristic that back inclination of the backrest (4) is adjustable in connection with a fixed seating angle (&agr;) between backrest (4) and seating surface (3) by pivoting the seat support (2) relative to the seat bracket (7), and that the seating angle of the seating surface (3) is adjustable in connection with a pivotal point (9) fixed in the longitudinal direction of the seat by pivoting the seating surface (3) relative to the backrest (4). The seat (1) of the invention is distinguished by a comparatively short adjustment pathway through a large back inclination adjustment of the backrest (4).

Abstract: The invention concerns a seat (1) with at least one seat base part (2) and at least one backrest part (3) which seat is supported on a seat carrier (4) and is movable in relation to said carrier by positioning drive (5, 6). Considering one of possibly multiple seats (1) it is of advantage, that the positioning drive (5, 6), is in controlling connection with at least one body position sensor (12, 13) to enable the advancing or retracting of a seat base part (2) and/or a backrest part (3) in accord with the bodily position assumed by a person on said seat (1), or, for the retraction of the seat base part (2) and or backrest part (3) in accord with a bodily movement of a person on the seat (1).

Abstract: A vehicle seat (1) has a carrier part (8) connected to a seat back (2), preferably with an integrated headrest (3), and a seat part (4) having a sitting surface. The seat back (2) is movable from a predetermined starting position to a safety position during a crash-related introduction of forces through the user of the seat during a rear collision. For this purpose, the carrier part has a support for the seat back (2) arranged above the sitting surface and spaced with an effective lever arm from the position for the introduction of forces by the pelvis area against in the seat back (2). The seat part (4) is connected to a guide slanting upwardly and forwardly away from the seat back (2), so that during a frontal collision, the seat part is moved from the originally selected starting position into a position of greater safety. The vehicle seat (1) according to the invention offers the user both good ergonomics and at the same time the greatest possible degree of safety.

Abstract: A chair (1), in particular a swiveling office chair, has a seat support (6) fastened to a lower part (7) joined in a swiveling fashion with a seat (2) that is motionally coupled with a backrest (3) by a synchronizing sliding guide (5) or by a similar synchronizing mechanism, whereby the seat (2) is supported by a readjusting apparatus (8) that acts against swinging movement. The chair (1) is characterized by the seat support (6) being guided at the lower part (7) in an approximately vertical direction, and by having within the movement transmission path between the backrest (3) and the lower part (7) of the chair, an apparatus (14) for blocking of and/or compensating for movement transmitted to the readjusting apparatus (8) during a backward swiveling movement of the backrest (3). The readjusting force of the backrest (3) is automatically adapted depending on the weight of the person using the chair, and increases with increasing inclination of the backrest.

Abstract: A chair wherein the support at the upper end of the leg has a rigidly mounted carrier for the front portion of the seat and a carrier for the back rest. The carrier for the back rest is connected to the carrier for the seat by a coupling which allows angular and translatory movements of the carrier for the back rest. A detent mechanism is provided to hold the back rest in any one of several different positions of inclination with reference to the seat. One element of the detent mechanism is a toothed rack on a slide which is connected with the carrier for the back rest and is reciprocable in a slot of the carrier for the seat. Another element of the detent mechanism is a lever which has one or more teeth movable into and from mesh with the teeth of the rack by a mechanism which can pivot the lever against the opposition of a torsion spring.

Abstract: A swivel chair has a leg with a support at the upper end of its upright column and two shells which are articulately connected to each other and at least one of which is articulately connected directly to the support. The one shell carries a cushion and forms therewith the seat of the chair. The other shell is assembled of two sections which are pivotable relative to each other about a horizontal axis, one of which supports the lumbar region of the body of the occupant of the chair and the other of which serves as a shoulder support. The one section is articulately connected to the rear portion of the one shell by two hinges.
