Abstract: The use of novel compositions for preserving aqueous systems normally subject to spoilage is disclosed. The compositions incorporate an antimicrobial agent into an inert and biodegradable carrier. The resulting compositions are stable, active, non-toxic, non-corrosive, biodegradable, compatible with ecosystems while having a flash point above 200.degree. F. and a pleasant odor.

Abstract: The invention is concerned with the 7R/7S-diastereoisomer mixture of the formula ##STR1## in pure form, essentially free of the corresponding (4R)-isomers. The invention also concerns the 2R/2S-diastereoisomer mixture of the formula ##STR2## in pure form which is useful as an intermediate for producing I. In addition, the invention concerns a process for obtaining I by subjecting II to isochromane ring closure. Odorant compositions containing I and the use of I as an odorant are also described.

Abstract: This invention pertains to hypoallergenic moss oils and a process for producing same which comprises reacting moss oil with an amino acid under mono-phasic conditions in solution and separating insolubilized allergenic substances.
