Patents Assigned to Glacier GmbH-Deva Werke
  • Patent number: 4420294
Abstract: Apparatus for the continuous extrusion of electrically conductive granulated materials, preferably powder metallurgy materials, wherein the material is introduced into a duct of a die and is compressed and moved along the duct to and through a nozzle on the die by a punch movable in the duct, the material being sintered by heating it with electrical current passed therethrough via electrical connections made with the punch and nozzle.

  • Patent number: 4320549
Abstract: A rocker-sliding bearing for bridges or similar structures and a method of lining the concave top side surface of a curved baseplate of a rocker-slider bearing wherein the rocker-slider bearing includes a flat top plate, an intermediate plate having a flat top side and a convex curved underside surface, a bedplate and a baseplate having a correspondingly concave curved top side surface in turn secured to the bedplate, the curved surface on the top of the baseplate including a lining of corrosion-resistant material and the curved surface of the intermediate plate including a lining with a low coefficient of friction relative to the highly corrosion-resistant material on the curved surface of the baseplate wherein the lining on the curved surface of the baseplate includes a preformed curved disc positioned on the baseplate and secured to the concave top side thereof.

  • Patent number: 4217140
Abstract: A high density extruded product is continuously produced in a one step operation by first cold compressing granulated powder material in a bore into a pellet by means of a plunger reciprocable into the bore, then pushing it by the force of succeeding pellets further down the bore into a hot press zone where the pellet is sintered, and finally pushing it through an uncooled orifice into a cooling zone. The hot press zone may be heated by means of an induction heating coil. The die may be made up of a plurality of interchangable die pieces.

  • Patent number: 4200341
Abstract: A sealing arrangement for a sliding bearing for carrying heavy loads in which two plate-shaped bearing metal sections are displaceable relative to each other. These are provided with sliding plates fastened between them. One of these is larger than the other, and a lubricant is applied between the sliding plates. A sealing strip encloses the sliding surface at a distance therefrom, and carries the smaller sliding plate. It also adheres to the larger sliding plate. A gap is formed between the sealing strip and the sliding surface or smaller sliding plate, and this gap is completely filled with lubricant. The sealing strip is made of flexible material, and may be stretched elastically under the pressure of the initial lubricant filling the gap. The sealing strip, furthermore, may be made of spongy absorbent material with a U-shaped cross section, while being open towards the larger sliding plate which is provided with its own lubricant filling.
