Patent number: 8726697Abstract: A convection heating furnace for a glass sheet, into which oven glass sheet (3) arrives along a hauling track, as on moving rolls (4), and said furnace further comprises of heating elements (12), in order to heat the air, which is blasted against glass sheet (3), a blaster and blast air channelling in order to blast said air against the glass sheet, and the blast air channelling has, elongated channels (1), into which at least a part of the blast air heating elements 12 are fitted, and each channel comprises air blasting means on its flank directed against the glass sheet (3). As air blast elements there are nozzle groups fixed on the channel (1) flank, where the nozzle group formed of sheet metal, as of two, into shape formed sheets joined together to form a casing, whereby said casing comprises one or several for blast air directed discharge channels (6), and the direction of air flow in said casing (2) is essentially in the same direction as in said discharge channels (6).Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 2007Date of Patent: May 20, 2014Assignee: Glassrobots OyInventors: Petri Lammi, Esa Lammi

Patent number: 7448232Abstract: A convection furnace for a tempered glass sheet (1), into which furnace the glass sheet arrives along a hauling track, as on turning rolls (3), and the furnace has also heating resistances (5) against glass sheet (1) for heating the blast air, a blast apparatus and blast channelling (4), (2) for blasting said air against the glass sheet. The blast channelling comprises elongated channels (2) in the glass sheet (1) direction, inside of which there is at least a part of each blast air heating resistance (5) and each channel (2) has below the resistance line a broadening and in the broadening a bottom part (9), whereby bottom part (9) is furnished with blast holes (7, 8).Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 2004Date of Patent: November 11, 2008Assignee: Glassrobots OYInventors: Jouko Järvinen, Petri Lammi, Kari Väh{hacek over (a)}-Antila

Patent number: 6578384Abstract: An arrangement in the loading end of a multi-section glass bending furnace, where the glass sheets travel along a special rail from one furnace section to the next section in mould carriages (8) moving in cycles on the said rail. For unloading and loading the mould with the bent glass (10) resting on it is shifted in mould carriage (8) from the rail over to side station (7), while the carriage keeps moving forward on the rail. There is in or will be removed to said rail from the side station one or more moulds earlier brought from the rail. In the side station the first transmitter (5) is to take the mould out of the mould and the second transmitter (6) is there to take the mould to the carriage and both transmitters are operating with the furnace section.Type: GrantFiled: May 14, 2001Date of Patent: June 17, 2003Assignee: Glassrobots OyInventor: Esko Peltonen

Patent number: 5974833Abstract: A heat transfer method in a glass bending furnace, which has a top array of of successive heating sections (2) and under it a bottom array of successive cooling sections (3), and in which method glass sheets are conveyed on bending molds in mold carrying wagons on the top conveyor track from one heating section (2) to the next and on the bottom conveyor track from one section (3) to the next and the air heated by the bent hot glasses is sucked from cooling section (3) and blasted to the non-bent colder glasses in the heating sections (2). In order to intensify heat transfer, air sucked from the cooling section (3) is blasted as such, against the travel direction of the mold carrying wagons through the heating sections (2) to non-bent colder glass sheets in one of the heating sections (2) preceding the heating section (2) directly above the cooling section (3) from which the heated air is drawn as viewed in a direction of travel of the mold carrying wagons through the heating sections (2).Type: GrantFiled: August 18, 1998Date of Patent: November 2, 1999Assignee: Glassrobots OYInventors: Kari Vaha-Antila, Juha Karisola

Patent number: 5141550Abstract: The present invention provides a glass bending device including an oven and a mold within the oven having a number of parallel horizontally extending pipes supported by at least two template plates. A number of parallel horizontally extending heating elements are suspended over the mold and can be raised or lowered by raising or lowering a template which acts on cables attached to the suspended heating elements. The second template causes the overall cross-sectional shape of the suspended heating elements to be the same as or the opposite of the shape of the second template.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 1991Date of Patent: August 25, 1992Assignee: Glassrobots OyInventor: Pauli T. Patent number: 5137562Abstract: The present invention provides a glass bending mold including at least two vertical template plates mounted in an oven frame by fixing devices. The vertical template plates define the shape of glass bent in the bending mold and include recesses along an upper edge thereof. On top of the templates are laid horizontally extending pipes for supporting glass to be bent. The pipes are received by said recesses in the template plates and are supported by the template plates. One end of each of the pipes extends out of the oven through apertures in one wall of said oven. A lever device moves the pipes back and forth to rock the pipes in the recesses while glass to be bent is lowered on the pipes.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 1991Date of Patent: August 11, 1992Assignee: Glassrobots OyInventor: Pauli T.
