Patents Assigned to Glastic Corporation
  • Patent number: 7875337
Abstract: A resin matrix connects a plurality of longitudinally aligned fibers together adjacent an outer side of the reinforcement. The outer side of the reinforcement has elongated peaks and elongated valleys. The valleys are defined by a space absent the resin matrix and located between the longitudinally aligned fibers located between the fibers. The elongated peaks are associated with the longitudinally aligned fibers. An adhesive connects the outer side of the reinforcement to the outer side of the wood structural member. The adhesive bonds to the plurality of valleys of the reinforcement. An apparatus for manufacturing the reinforcement is also provided.

  • Patent number: 6893524
Abstract: A method includes wetting fibers with a resin capable of being cured by at least two different cure treatments. At least partially curing the resin by subjecting the resin to a first cure treatment and at least partially curing the resin by subjecting the resin to a second cure treatment. A plurality of fibers are located adjacent each other so that a plurality of valleys are formed between the plurality of fibers along an outer side of the reinforcement. The resin is cured to retain the valleys in the outer side of the reinforcement. The outer side of the reinforcement is adhered to the structural member. An apparatus including a fiber locating mechanism adapted to retain the peaks and valleys during curing of the resin without rigidly confining the outer side of the reinforcement.

  • Patent number: 5655981
Abstract: A shaft for a hockey stick comprised of a non-metallic elongated member having a generally rectangular cross-section; a first layer comprised of a resilient yet tough material bonded to the member; a second layer comprised of metal applied to the first layer by a metal deposition process; and a third layer comprised of a clear resilient, tough material encasing said second layer of metal.

  • Patent number: 5636836
Abstract: A composite hockey stick shaft of generally uniform cross section along a longitudinal axis having a first pair of opposing sides perpendicular to a neutral bending axis, and a second pair of opposing sides parallel to the neutral bending axis, wherein the first pair of opposing sides has a lower compressive strength and strain than the second pair of sides.

  • Patent number: 3960473
Abstract: A pultrusion die for forming elongated, serrated, fiber-reinforced articles is disclosed. The die comprises a die block having a cylindrical cavity therethrough and a plurality of cylindrical rods arranged in a cylindrical array about the sidewall of the cavity. Each rod contacts two adjacent rods at parallel lines of contact which are located along the length of each rod and which define inwardly facing cylindrical arcs of less than 180.degree. so that the rods lock each other against nonaxial movement. The inwardly facing arcs together define a serrated die cavity.
