Abstract: Support panels for masonry objects and associated methods of use are disclosed herein. A support panel for masonry objects may include an inner surface, an outer surface, at least one stiffening channel formed longitudinally along the support panel, and a plurality of substantially C-shaped tabs extending from the outer surface, the tabs being disposed in spaced apart relation to one another to form a grid, wherein the tabs are configured to contactingly support at least a portion of a masonry object.
Abstract: A heater assembly to be located at a substantially vertical wall for heating air. The heater assembly includes one or more heating elements, and one or more heat transfer elements mounted on the heating element for transferring heat to a column of the air moving substantially upwardly past the heat transfer elements. The column includes an inner portion positioned proximal to the wall and an outer portion positioned distal to the wall. Each heat transfer element is formed to transfer substantially more heat to the outer portion of the column of the air than to the inner portion thereof, to cause the outer portion to rise faster than the inner portion, for at least partially entraining the inner portion with the outer portion, so that at least a part of the inner portion forms a laminar boundary layer flowing along the wall.
Abstract: A building-mounted awning. The awning includes a support frame, and a covering provided over the support frame to act as shelter from precipitation, or act as a shade from the sun. The support frame is attached to the building at only one location along a width of the support frame by a single bracket attached to the building.
Abstract: A permeate carrier fabric includes at least some monofilament synthetic yarns to provide adequate stiffness and reduce blockage of permeate flow.

Abstract: An underlayment heating system for use with flooring, the system including an underlayment layer, a vapor barrier layer, a thin film radiant heater layered between at least part of the underlayment layer and the vapor barrier layer, wherein the thin film radiant heater includes a substrate, a conductive resistive ink pattern disposed on the substrate, wherein the ink pattern generates heat when electricity passes through the resistive ink pattern, wherein the underlayment heating system includes overlap portions that extend along opposing longitudinal edges of the system, and wherein the thin film radiant heater is layered between the underlayment layer and the vapor barrier layer such that the resistive ink pattern is disposed outside of the overlap portions of the underlayment heating system.
Abstract: A heating system for use with roofing shingles, the heating system including a flexible grounding layer having a transverse dimension that is no greater than substantially equal to a transverse dimension of the roofing shingles, a flexible heater laminated to the flexible grounding layer, wherein the flexible heater includes a substrate, a conductive resistive ink pattern disposed on the substrate, wherein the ink pattern generates heat when electricity passes through the ink pattern, wherein the heating system includes a nailing portion that extends longitudinally along one side of the heating system, the nailing portion of the heating system having a transverse dimension that is at least substantially equal to a transverse dimension of a nailing portion of the roofing shingles, wherein the flexible heater is disposed on the flexible grounding layer such that the ink pattern is disposed outside of the nailing portion of the heating system.

Abstract: The present analysis systems and methods provide a dynamic graphical user interface through which a user can view and modify a trading strategy. The various parts of the strategy may be graphically displayed to the user, and any modification to the strategy made by the user may be dynamically integrated into feedback of the graphical user interface.
Abstract: Novel CE-phosphoramidites and CPG reagents have been synthesized from a serinol backbone. These reagents are useful to introduce functional groups or directly label oligonucleotides. The versatile serinol scaffold allows for labeling at any position (5? or 3? termini, or any internal position) during automated DNA synthesis. Multiple labels or functional groups can be achieved by repetitive coupling cycles. Optimal spacer arms and protected label moieties have been specially designed. Further, the natural 3-carbon atom internucleotide phosphate distance is retained when inserted internally.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for growing plants in a growing room includes a hanging member having a substantially planar configuration, oriented vertically. At least one carriage is disposed on the hanging member to support growing plants. A nutrient delivery system has a conduit to deliver nutrients to the hanging member and to recycle any unused nutrients.

Abstract: A method of forming a compatibilized blend of a polymeric material and one or more additives and/or fillers is disclosed. The method includes blending the polymeric material and or more additives and/or fillers with an exfoliated clay.
Abstract: A method for increasing the tamper resistance of a computer software application comprises four steps. In the first step, a datum in the application to protect from tampering is chosen. In the second step, a location in memory into which the datum will be loaded when the application is executed is calculated. In the third step, user-purpose code to modify is chosen. In the fourth step, the chosen user-purpose code is modified so that, when executed, it reads a value from the memory location and uses it in useful calculation.
Abstract: Universal supports for oligonucleotide synthesis include a support material represented by the following formula: In this formula, substituent A is selected from H, alkyl, aryl, or a polymeric or silica base material; substituent B is selected from acyl, aroyl, or a polymeric or silica base material; and substituent C is selected from a dimethoxytrityl group or a protecting group removable under acidic or neutral conditions. For the supports, one of substituents A or B constitutes the polymeric or silica base material. In use, an oligonucleotide is attached to the support at substituent C.
Abstract: A convertible roofing material which includes an outer fabric layer formed at least partially of polymeric coated, core yarns such as a polyester core coated with polyvinyl chloride.
