  • Publication number: 20110120884
Abstract: Techniques are generally described herein for protecting food or beverage containers (e.g., cans) using impressed current protection. In various embodiments, containers may be received into at least one conductive bed, each bed having a complementary anode. The containers may then be electrically coupled to a first terminal (e.g., negative) of a power supply, and the anode may be electrically coupled to a second terminal (e.g., positive) of the power supply. Resultantly, protective current may be provided to the containers by the anode.

  • Publication number: 20110114260
Abstract: The present disclosure generally describes techniques suitable for use in the construction or recycling of composite materials. An article may comprise a thermoplastic coupled to a bonding interface layer, with a coating layer applied to the surface of the bonding interface layer. A bonding interface layer may comprise catalytic nanoparticles embedded within and/or encapsulated by one or more radiatively unstable polymers. Application of ionizing radiation to the article may release a catalyst at the bonding interface. Application of heat and/or stress to the article may enhance catalytic degradation of the remaining bonding interface and uncoupling of the thermoplastic from the coating layer. Embodiments of methods, compositions, articles and/or systems may be disclosed and claimed.

  • Publication number: 20110102605
Abstract: Technology for augmenting reality using image matching is described. The technology can receive a captured image, determine location information relating to the received image, and transmit the location information to a server computing device. The technology may then receive one or more tags from the server computing device, wherein each tag can include one or more patches and supplementary information corresponding to at least one of the patches and each patch can be associated with the location information. The technology can then determine using an image matching process whether at least one of the received one or more patches appears in the received image, and if a patch appears in the received image, render the supplementary information corresponding to the patch.

  • Patent number: 7907451
Abstract: The disclosure of this application enhances the data writing speed of an electrically erasable and writable semiconductor memory. In a semiconductor storage device of this application, at a time of writing data, when a positive voltage lower than a voltage at control gate 30 is applied to potential control gate 28 formed inside tunnel oxide film 360 between p channel 22 of a transistor and floating gate 32, a potential barrier between p channel 22 of the transistor and floating gate 32 is lowered, and a time required for storing an electron in floating gate 30 is reduced. After data is stored, when 0 V or a negative voltage is applied to the potential control gate, a potential barrier for an electron moving from the floating gate to the channel of the transistor increases, thereby preventing erasure of data.
